Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently signaling configurations of physical resources and transmission parameters to a user equipment (UE) for small data transmissions (for example, data transmissions in an inactive or idle state). A base station may broadcast or multicast downlink control information (DCI) in one or more control channels that schedules data transmissions in a set of data channels. The base station may then multicast one or more configurations in each of the data channels, and a UE may decode one of the data channels to determine a configuration for a small data transmission. Because the configurations may be transmitted in the data channels in addition to system information or paging information, a base station may have access to sufficient resources to provide suitable configurations to a UE for communications in an inactive or idle state.

For a set of scheduled transmission instances of a data communication, a transmitting network node may determine a first spatial filter to apply for a first subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to provide the data communication and a second spatial filter to apply for a second subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to allow energy harvesting at an energy harvesting device. In some cases, the transmitting network node may indicate a first quasi co-location (QCL) relation to use for the first subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to provide the data communication to the network node receiving the data transmissions, and the transmitting network node may indicate a second QCL relation to use for the second subset of the scheduled transmission instances configured to allow energy harvesting to the energy harvesting device.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes performing an access procedure to connect with a network comprising multiple wireless network nodes. The method also includes receiving a communication parameter message indicating multiple communication parameter sets based on performing the access procedure. Each communication parameter set may be associated with a single respective connection mode of multiple connection modes, and each connection mode may be associated with one or more respective wireless network nodes of the multiple wireless network nodes. The method also includes receiving signaling configuring the UE to use a connection mode of the multiple connection modes. The method further includes communicating with the one or more wireless network nodes of the multiple wireless network nodes, according to a communication parameter set associated with the connection mode, based on receiving the signaling. The one or more wireless network nodes may be associated with the connection mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for relayed sidelink communications in which a set of relays receives a groupcast sidelink communication from a source and relay the communication to a destination using cooperative multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques. A source, such as a source user equipment (UE), may reserve resources for the groupcast sidelink communication and the cooperative MIMO transmissions, and may transmit a resource reservation message with an indication of the reserved resources. The resource reservation message may be transmitted in a sidelink control information transmission, in a medium access control message, or any combinations thereof. In the event of a collision in reserved resources of multiple different sources, the sources or relays may determine a priority of each communication and transmit a selected communication based on the priority determination.
