Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for simulating a receiver for link adaptation. A method for wireless communications by an apparatus includes obtaining, from an UE, parameters of a UE receiver; determining channel characteristics of a communication channel between the apparatus and the UE based on a measurement of a signal received from the UE; estimating a response of the UE receiver communicating on the communication channel having the channel characteristics based on a digital representation of the UE receiver, wherein the digital representation of the UE receiver is based on the parameters of the UE receiver; determining, based on the estimated response, at least one parameter for communication on the communication channel with the UE; sending, to the UE, an indication of the at least one parameter; and communicating with the UE in accordance with the at least one parameter.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to methods for improving data reliability in a wireless network. In some examples, a wireless node may obtain a wireless signal. In some examples, a wireless node may filter the wireless signal via an iterative interference cancelation process. In some examples, a wireless node may decode the filtered wireless signal, wherein the filtering and decoding are performed within a first time window indicated by a non-legacy signal processing requirement.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device or a receiving device may indicate support for crest factor reduction (CFR) techniques using clipping and mirroring. The transmitting device may indicate a clipping level and a mirroring level for a CFR function. The transmitting device may generate a waveform in accordance with the CFR function and may transmit the waveform to the receiving device. The receiving device may monitor the waveform to detect one or more mirrored portions of the waveform. The receiving device may invert the one or more mirrored portions of the waveform over the mirroring level to restore and decode the waveform.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for ML based dynamic bit loading and rate control are described. An apparatus obtains NN model coefficient information associated with communication channel information, between a UE and network, and the UE capabilities. The apparatus generates, using the NN model and based on the coefficient information, a communication configuration including a constellation or a CB channel coding rate. The apparatus communicates, with the network and based on the CB of a TB, using the NN-generated channel coding rate or constellation. Another apparatus obtains NN model coefficient information, associated with communication channel information, between a UE and network, and the UE capabilities. The apparatus generates, using the NN model and based on the coefficient information, a communication configuration including a constellation or a CB channel coding rate. The apparatus communicates, with the UE and based on the CB of a TB, using the NN-generated channel coding rate or constellation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a time and frequency resource allocated to an uplink shared channel and may identify a threshold signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) associated with the time and frequency resource. The UE may transmit both an uplink data signal and a sounding reference signal (SRS) via at least the time and frequency resource. The uplink data signal and the SRS may overlap in both time and frequency within the time and frequency resource. The uplink data signal may be transmitted using a first transmit power and the SRS may be transmitted using a second transmit power. The first transmit power and the second transmit power may be based on the threshold SNR.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a preprocessing matrix to be applied to received communications. The UE may receive a communication having precoding applied, the precoding based at least in part on the preprocessing matrix. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide machine-learning models, such as neural network (NN) based precoding functions, that may be used at a user equipment (UE) to determine precoding parameters directly based on channel estimations performed at the UE. A network entity may measure a channel used for communications with the UE and determine coefficients that are to be applied to a machine learning precoding function (e.g., a NN precoding function) at the UE. The network entity may provide the determined coefficients to the UE. The UE may use the indicated coefficients in the NN based precoding function, along with a channel estimation of a channel associated with an uplink transmission, to determine a precoding matrix that is to be applied for the uplink transmission.
