Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) in one or more slots along with data traffic, where one of the PDCCHs includes a downlink preemption indication (DLPI) signifying that a portion of the data traffic was preempted. In some cases, the UE may monitor, within a same slot, for both the data traffic and an additional PDCCH carrying the DLPI and then transmit, within the same slot, a feedback message based on attempting to decode the data traffic, taking into account the DLPI. Additionally, the UE may receive the data traffic via a first service, where the DLPI indicates a second service preempts the first service. In some cases, the DLPI may be transmitted based on the UE being capable of processing the data traffic and transmitting the feedback message within the same slot.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a UE may receive configuration information that signals a first set of resources and a second set of resources. The configuration information may indicate that the first set of resources is associated with high priority transmissions and the second set of resources is associated with low priority transmissions. The UE may select, based at least in part on the configuration information and a priority of a transmission, either the first set of resources or the second set of resources for transmitting the transmission. The selecting of the first set of resources or the second set of resources may be based on latency requirements or reliability requirements of transmissions to be transmitted by the UE. The UE may transmit the transmission using the selected set of resources. Other aspects are provided.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to receive a plurality of combined signals. Each combined signal may be on a tone of a plurality of tones. The apparatus may be configured to determine a first pilot signal on a first tone of the plurality of tones. The apparatus may be configured to generate an interference-reduced signal for the first tone by canceling the determined first pilot signal from a first combined signal on the first tone.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Efficient low-density parity-check (LDPC) scheduling of layered decoding may include receiving a message encoded as an LDPC code that includes a number of check nodes and a number of bit nodes, applying a first number of decoding iterations to decoding the message, applying a second number of decoding iterations to decoding the message after the first number of decoding iterations are applied, and decoding the message through completion of both the first number of decoding iterations and the second number of decoding iterations. In some cases, only a portion of the number of check nodes is decoded during each of the first number of decoding iterations and all of the number of check nodes are decoded during each of the second number of decoding iterations.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure disclose techniques for implementing a wideband reference signal to improve the narrowband channel estimation performance associated with narrowband demodulation reference signal (DMRS) for the data channel in NR communications. Specifically, because the wideband reference signal may occupy wider bandwidth than the DMRS, the channel estimation realized may be more accurate than solely relying on the narrowband DMRS. In some examples, the wideband reference signal, which may be control reference signals (CRS), channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) in downlink or uplink sounding reference signal (SRS), may be associated with a corresponding narrowband DMRS in a data channel. The wideband reference signal may be either included in the control channel region or the data channel region.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, wireless devices may implement adjusted fractally enhanced kernel polar coding. An encoder may receive a number of information bits and a block size for transmission, and may append an additional number of information bits to the information bits for transmission. The encoder may perform a recursive bit allocation process to allocate the aggregate set of information bits between a set of sub-blocks based on mutual information metrics. To obtain the correct number of information bits and block size, the encoder may remove a number of information bits equal to the number of appended additional bits (e.g., from a first half of the sub-blocks), assign the remaining information bits to bit channels in each sub-block, and block puncture a set of bits (e.g., from the first half). The resulting codeword may mitigate occurrences of achievable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) spikes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for outputting of codeword bits for transmission prior to loading all input bits. An example encoder may have multiple encoding branches. The encoder may divide the encoding branches into first and second encoding branch subsets, outputs of the first encoding branch subset being independent of inputs to the second encoding branch subset. The encoder may generate first and second subsets of output bits of a codeword in first and second encoding operations, the generating comprising inputting information bits of an information bit-vector and at least one frozen bit into respective encoding branches of the plurality of encoding branches and generating the first subset of output bits using the first encoding branch subset prior to generating the second subset of output bits using the second encoding branch subset. The encoder may output the first subset of output bits prior to outputting the second subset of output bits.
