Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a non-terrestrial network (NTN) entity, a message that is associated with an uplink grant. The UE may select, based at least in part on the message, either a cell-specific offset or an updated offset that is indicated after initial access, as a timing offset that accounts for a propagation delay between a base station of the NTN and the UE. The UE may transmit, to the NTN entity, an uplink communication using the timing offset. Numerous other aspects are described.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using one or more physical layer (PHY) parameters associated with a first block error rate (BLER) target performance. The UE may receive, from the base station prior to expiration of a round trip timer associated with the first PUSCH, downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a second PUSCH and configuring one or more PHY parameters associated with a second BLER target performance. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the second PUSCH using the PHY parameter(s) associated with the second BLER target performance, wherein the second PUSCH includes a retransmission of the first PUSCH or a new transmission based at least in part on a hybrid automatic repeat request process indicated in the DCI. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reducing a size of semistatic codebooks for HARQ feedback. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining a number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions for a time period, determining a maximum number (k) of simultaneous downlink transmissions the UE can receive during the time period, receiving one or more downlink transmissions during the time period from a base station, and determining a type of encoding for the HARQ feedback based on: (i) a number of the one or more downlink transmissions received, (ii) the number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions for the time period, and/or (iii) the maximum number (k) of simultaneous downlink transmissions.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station on a granting group common (GC)-physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) downlink grant that schedules an MBMS transmission at each UE of a group of UEs that includes the UE. The method also includes receiving, from the base station on a triggering GC-PDCCH, a message indicating respective feedback resources for each UE of the group of UEs. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, the MBMS transmission. The method still further includes transmitting, to the base station via the feedback resources, a feedback report based on receiving the MBMS transmission.

The time offset may be a single time offset that applies across all numerologies or may be multiple time offsets, each specific to a particular numerology or bandwidth part (BWP). The time offset may be a single time offset scaled based on a current numerology configured for communications. The time offset may apply across different bandwidth parts (BWPs) or across multiple component carriers from which the UE is receiving downlink data.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to determining a new multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration for a MBMS that is backward compatible with a legacy MBMS configurations. A base station determines a MBMS configuration. The MBMS configuration includes at least one non-optional field that indicates compatibility with a first user equipment (UE) having a first MBMS capability or compatibility with a second UE having a second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration also includes a sub-carrier spacing indication for a MBMS corresponding to the first MBMS capability or the second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration is broadcasted to the first UE and the second UE.
