Abstract:
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for accessing services from multiple home Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) Platforms.(H-SLP) servers are provided. In one potential embodiment, a method describes identifying in an application identifier list, a fully qualified domain (FQDN) name associated with the application from a plurality of FQDNs. A subsequent request for services by a different application on the device may identify a different FQDN associated with a different H-SLP to provide services to the device for the second application.
Abstract:
Techniques for supporting location services in a user plane location architecture such as Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) are described. In an aspect, a terminal informs a location server of service capabilities of the terminal. The location server uses the service capabilities to request only location services supported by the terminal and to avoid requesting unsupported location services. The terminal generates a message containing its service capabilities and sends the message via a user plane, e.g., SUPL. The location server receives the message, obtains the service capabilities of the terminal, and stores these service capabilities for future network-initiated location sessions with the terminal. The location server determines whether a location service is supported by the terminal based on the service capabilities of the terminal. The location server communicates with the terminal via the user plane for the location service if supported by the terminal.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided which may be implemented in various methods, apparatus, and/or articles of manufacture to allow a mobile device to obtain certain location service(s) and/or the like from one or more computing devices that have been authorized for use. For example, in certain implementations, an authorizing location server may obtain a first message from a mobile device indicating a first set of location servers, determine a second set of location servers based, at least in part, on the first set of location servers, and transmit a second message to the mobile device indicating that the second set of location servers are authorized for location service related access by the mobile device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses are disclosed for providing location services to an application in a Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) Enabled Terminal (SET). In some embodiments, a SUPL configuration server (SUPL CS) may configure multiple secure user plane location (SUPL) location platforms (SLPs) in a first stage. Subsequently, the SUPL CS may configure information independently for the application in a second stage, wherein the configuration information for the application includes identification of a particular Home SLP (H-SLP) configured in the first stage.
Abstract:
A particular method includes generating, at a secure user plane location (SUPL) server, a message to be sent to a mobile device, the message including: a server certificate including an identifier of the SUPL server and a public key of the SUPL server; and a request for a device certificate of the mobile device. The method also includes receiving a reply from the mobile device that includes a device certificate of the mobile device; and authenticating the mobile device as associated with a SUPL user based on the device certificate.
Abstract:
The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a system and method for determining indoor context information relating to a location of a mobile device. Indoor context information may be utilized by a mobile device or a network element to obtain an estimate of a location of the mobile device within an indoor environment.
