Abstract:
A rotary shaft seal for the rotary cutter of a each boring drill bit includes a fixed seal ring fitted securely in the cutter and having an end face which includes a first tapered surface, a floating seal ring having an end face, which includes a second tapered surface opposing the first tapered surface, and a curved inner circumferential surface, and a resilient O-ring compressed between the curved inner circumferential surface of the floating ring and a bearing portion on which the cutter is rotatably journalled.
Abstract:
A pressure compensator installed in the bit body of a rotary earth boring tool to lubricate the bearing surfaces of a rotary cutter and to effect a liquid seal. In order to reduce the number of component parts and to enhance durability, the pressure compensator includes a rubber diaphragm interposed between upper and lower capsule halves that form a spherical space.
Abstract:
In the conversion of chemical energy into electric energy by the electrochemical reaction of a gaseous anodic reactant and a gaseous cathodic reactant through the medium of a heteropoly acid solid electrolyte, the life of the solid electrolyte is notably increased by passing each reactant through pools of a saturated aqueous solution of a specific salt bordering on closed empty spaces thereby allowing the reactants to acquire prescribed humidities prior to the contact thereof with the anode and cathode.
Abstract:
A paper-feeding mechanism of a compact printer is provided. The mechanism has a driven wheel which transmits rotation to a paper-feeding roller and a driving wheel which drives the driven wheel. The driving wheel has first and second sets of gear teeth for engagement with teeth on the driven wheel. The driving wheel is axially displaceable to provide for driving with the first set of gear teeth at a normal paper feed rate and also by the second set for driving at a rapid paper feed rate. A solenoid-operated rate-selection lever serves to select either of the driving speeds. A cam attached to a power wheel which drives the driving wheel serves to return the mechanism from rapid to regular paper-feeding.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a proton permselective solid-state member which is formed of a heteropoly acid represented by the generic formula, H.sub.m [X.sub.x.sup.. Y.sub.y.sup.. O.sub.z ].sup.. nH.sub.2 O, or a salt thereof. Said permselective member can be used as an electrolyte in the fuel cell and as a permselective membrane in the hydrogen gas refining system.
Abstract:
A wireless communication system includes a first communication device which arranges a frequency signal into which a single carrier signal is converted by time-to-frequency conversion in subcarriers and wirelessly transmits a resultant signal and a second communication device which receives the signal wirelessly transmitted by the first communication device. The wireless communication system includes a selection unit which calculates, for each determined selection candidate as a combination of a predetermined segment size and information indicating predetermined average transmission power, a value indicating reception quality in the second communication device upon transmission by the first communication device by using an arrangement using the predetermined segment size, and the predetermined average transmission power, and which selects a selection candidate to be used upon transmission by the first communication device from among the selection candidates based on the calculated value indicating the reception quality. Therefore, an excellent transmission efficiency is obtained.
Abstract:
In SORM (Spectrum-Overlapped Resource Allocation), interference to other cells caused by an increase in transmit power of mobile station apparatuses is suppressed. A wireless control apparatus allows a plurality of wireless terminal apparatuses to locate transmit signals at part of frequencies in a system band in an overlapping manner, and determines frequencies at which the individual wireless terminal apparatuses locate transmit signals, so that an interference level of the entire system band is suppressed to be lower than or equal to a certain value. Also, the wireless control apparatus determines frequencies at which the individual wireless terminal apparatuses locate transmit signals, so that a total sum of frequency bands allocated to the individual wireless terminal apparatuses is smaller than or equal to the system band.
Abstract:
There is implemented a clipping technique that does not require a reception apparatus or a transmission apparatus to notify a transmission apparatus or a reception apparatus of information on clipping. A wireless transmission apparatus performs clipping processing not to transmit a spectrum of part of a frequency domain signal when transmitting data to a wireless reception apparatus and determines a frequency band to be subjected to the clipping processing using information other than information notified from the wireless reception apparatus and directly specifying a frequency band to be subjected to the clipping processing.
Abstract:
By taking into account the power consumption and PH of a mobile station apparatus on an uplink, while communication quality is maintained, the efficiency of power consumption is improved. There are provided a PUSCH reception section 14 for receiving a PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared CHannel) signal from the mobile station apparatus; a PH detection section 15 for detecting the PH (Power Headroom) from the received PUSCH signal; a transmission antenna number determination section 16 for determining, from the detected PH, the number of transmission antennas that the mobile station apparatus uses; a DCI generation section 10 for generating DCI (Downlink Control Information) based on frequency assignment information of the mobile station apparatus on the uplink; and a PDCCH transmission section 11 for converting the generated DCI and the determined transmission antenna number information into a PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control CHannel) signal to transmit the PDCCH signal to the mobile station apparatus.
