    摘要: An adaptive hierarchical neural network based system with online adaptation capabilities has been developed to automatically adjust the display window width and center for MR images. Our windowing system possesses the online training capabilities that make the adaptation of the optimal display parameters to personal preference as well as different viewing conditions possible. The online adaptation capabilities are primarily due to the use of the hierarchical neural networks and the development of a new width/center mapping system. The large training image set is hierarchically organized for efficient user interaction and effective re-mapping of the width/center settings in the training data set. The width/center values are modified in the training data through a width/center mapping function, which is estimated from the new width/center values of some representative images adjusted by the user. The width/center mapping process consists of a global spline mapping for the entire training images as well as a first-order polynomial sequence mapping for the image sequences selected in the user's new adjustment procedure.

    摘要: A multi-scale approach to enhancement is taken where enhancement masks are generated at different scales and then combined together using a pyramid scheme. Each mask is computed from applying directional sensitive Laplacian kernels, which is responsible for extracting images of low contrast, followed by an adaptive non-linear mapping. This non-linearity is crucial in virtually eliminating edge overshoots. Furthermore, the input image may also be preprocessed by an edge-preserving smoothing filter to reduce the noise effect.

    摘要: An adaptive edge-preserving smoothing filter effectively reduces noise levels while preserving fine structures in data. The behavior of the filter is controlled easily by two control parameters. To adaptively control the behavior of the filter, the control parameter, .alpha., can be set as a function of the local directional variances. The control parameter, .beta., can be set as a function of all of the directional variances and directional means. The filter includes; a compute means which receives the filter window size, the number of filter directions and input data, adaptive weighting parameter map means which receives the control parameter, .alpha., adaptive weighting process means, adaptive combination parameter map means which receives the control parameter, .beta., and final compute means which provides the filtered output data.

    摘要: A system for monitoring eyes of an individual includes a human interface for obtaining images of the individual and for providing feedback to the individual and a processor for analyzing the images. The processor transforms an image sequence into a one dimensional signal by extracting relevant features from the images. Analysis of the signal generated then occurs to detect sleepiness. Transformation of the image sequence includes eye localization, eye tracking and eye motion signal generation. The system takes advantage of the relatively high horizontal-contrast density of the eye region to determine eye positions in a greyscale image of a human face.

    摘要: A method for Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) combination is disclosed. The method includes that: externally configured parameters relevant to HARQ combination are received, and an identifier ddr2switch of DDR2 switching is calculated to acquire addresses involved before and after the HARQ combination; it is determined, according to the parameters and the addresses involved before and after the HARQ combination, whether the HARQ combination is needed to be performed; and when it is determined that the HARQ combination is needed to be performed, data in a DDR2 are read and stored into a first data cache random access memory RAMA; and a HARQ combination calculation is performed, and the calculation result is stored into a second data cache random access memory RAMB. A device for HARQ combination is further disclosed. The technical solutions provided in the disclosure are based on a latest interference cancellation algorithm, greatly increase the success probability of decoding, saves the storage space of a DDR2 and improves the reading or writing efficiency.
