Abstract:
An apparatus for the application of a casting agent, such as flux powder, to the bath level of liquid metal in a continuous casting mold during continuous casting embodying at least one measuring element arranged above the bath level in the continuous casting mold and distributor means for the distribution of the flux powder onto the bath level. Conductor means operatively connect the measuring element with regulator means. There are also provided means for changing the conveyed quantity of flux powder, and conductor means for operatively connecting the regulator means with the means for changing the conveyed quantity of flux powder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a noise sensor for an alternating or direct current power supply. The sensor comprises a noise sensing unit and a noise separator. The noise separator is configured to receive first, second and third input signals and provide a first output signal representative of the common mode noise and a second output signal representative of the differential mode noise. The noise sensing unit comprises a first capacitive element, a second capacitive element, a first resistive element and a second resistive element.
Abstract:
Consistent with an example embodiment, there is a method of controlling a synchronous rectifier having an input signal having oscillations therein and a switch which is switchable between an open state and a closed state. The method comprises filtering the input signal to produce a filtered signal, comparing the filtered signal with a reference value, and opening the switch in response to the comparison, in which the filtering is active filtering. The active filtering may be based on determination of the peaks (positive and/or negative) of the signal, either directly, including a quarter period offset, or including decay—or a combination of the above; alternatively, the active filtering may be based on the a smoothing functions such as a switched low-pass filter or a short time integrator.
Abstract:
A protective system for an electric unit operated by an installable battery pack includes: a control device configured to activate the electric unit in the case of the installed battery pack by operating a main switch; a contact device of the electric unit and a contact device of the battery pack including mutually complementary contact elements, which in each case form a first and a second interface for producing a first and a second electrical connection between the electric unit and the battery pack. In this instance, the contact devices are configured, during the installing of the battery pack, to produce the first electrical connection before the second electrical connection in time.
Abstract:
Door for a domestic appliance, in particular an oven door, having a front glass (10; 40) and a handle (12; 42) for opening and closing the door, wherein the handle (12; 42) is attached to the front glass (10; 40) by means of an adhesive without any additional fixing means.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process in which a compound R1COOR3 (I) is made by a transesterification reaction of an ester compound R1COOR2 (II) with an alcohol R3OH (III) in the presence of a transesterification catalyst, wherein R1 is H or C1-4 alkyl or CH2═CR4—; R2 is C1-4 alkyl; R3 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl having at least 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having at least 5 carbon atoms, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl and amino alkyl; and R4 is —H or —C1-4 alkyl, wherein alcohol R2OH (IV) is formed as a byproduct and in which said byproduct (IV) is removed by distillation in the presence of an entrainer, in which the entrainer is a compound that suppresses the formation of an azeotrope between compound (II) and byproduct (IV). The process can be useful in the preparation of esters such as dimethyl amino ethyl (meth)acrylate. The invention also provides a method of separating alcohols and esters. In a further form of the invention a process of preparing esters by a transesterification process is provided in which the transesterification catalyst is homogenous.
Abstract:
A support structure of a head restraint system for an automotive vehicle seat includes an actuator configured to be actuated by an occupant. A locking arrangement is disposable within a back of the vehicle seat and is configured to selectively secure the support structure relative to the back of the vehicle seat. At least a portion of the locking arrangement is operatively associated with the actuator.
Abstract:
A power supply unit is provided which comprises an AC/DC conversion unit with an input to which an input voltage is coupled and an output to which a DC bus voltage is coupled. The power supply unit furthermore comprises a DC bus capacitor which is coupled to the output of the AC/DC conversion unit. The power supply unit furthermore comprises at least one sub-power supply unit receiving the DC bus voltage as input for providing at least one power supply. The power supply of the at least one sub-power supply unit or part of the load is at least reduced or switched off if the input voltage falls below a predetermined threshold value.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat head restraint assembly is provided with a stop mounted to a rod of a vehicle seat back. A frame is mounted to the rod to slide therealong. A head restraint is mounted to the frame. A shaft cooperates with the stop and the frame and includes a series of notches and the stop includes at least one projection that engages the notches in a locked rotary position of the shaft. The projection is disengaged from the notches in a released rotary position of the shaft. The shaft has a cam and an actuator has a follower arrangement for releasing the shaft to slide the head restraint frame along the rod. A head restraint assembly is also provided wherein the series of notches and the projection cooperate such that height adjustment in an upward direction only is permitted without actuation of the actuator.
