Abstract:
Provided is a latent heat transfer material that is micro-encapsulated, said material exhibiting superior mechanical strength and heat resistance. A production method for the latent heat transfer material that is micro-encapsulated in a hard shell comprises: 1) a step in which a perforate hollow silica particle is manufactured; 2) a step in which the phase change material is sealed inside the perforate hollow silica particle by inserting the perforate hollow silica particle in a molten solution of the phase change material and repeatedly subjecting the same to vibrations such as ultrasound oscillations; 3) a step in which the perforate hollow silica particle having the phase change material sealed within is washed in a saturated aqueous solution of the phase change material; and 4) a step in which perhydropolysilazane is used to coat the outer shell of the perforate hollow silica particle with silica.
Abstract:
Provided are a line-of-sight measurement device and method, which perform automatic calibration of line-of-sight measurement for distance-gazing users. The device is provided with: an optical axis-calculating means for calculating the optical axes of both the left and right eyeballs when viewing two distant points; a discrepancy calculating means for calculating, with the visual axes of the left and right eyeballs during distance-gazing being parallel as a constraint, the discrepancies between the optical axes and the visual axes for both the left and right eyeballs; and a fixation point-calculating means for calculating the user's fixation point on the basis of the discrepancy between the optical axes and the visual axes. For the constraint, the outer product value of the respective vectors of the left and right eye visual axes is 0 or the inner product of the respective unit vectors of the left and right eye visual axes is 1.
Abstract:
A cancer vaccine that can be orally administered can be provided through the use of a transformed Bifidobacterium capable of expressing and displaying a WT1 protein. The WT1 protein expressed and displayed by the transformed Bifidobacterium is a protein covering most of a WT1 protein unlike a WT1 peptide vaccine restricted to a certain HLA. A cancer vaccine using the transformed Bifidobacterium as an active ingredient is applicable to patients of various HLA types.
Abstract:
A drill guide has a main body in which a drill insertion hole is formed and plural projection portions to be inserted into plural bone tunnels. The plural projection portions project forward from the main body parallel with the center line of the drill insertion hole, a virtual drill insertion hole which extends from the drill insertion hole of the main body is formed between the plural projection portions parallel with their center lines by cutting out confronting portions of the plural projection portions, and the length of at least one of the drill insertion hole and the virtual drill insertion hole is 5 mm or more. The drill guide can guide a drill so as to be correctly between plural bone tunnels bored through a living body bone without causing axis deviation so that a link bone tunnel for connecting the plural bone tunnels can be formed between them in the same direction as their direction.
Abstract:
The present invention provides: a furoxan compound having a fluorine atom as a substituent group on the ring structure thereof; and a novel nitric oxide donor including the compound. The present invention relates to a fluorofuroxan compound represented by general formula (1) or (2). The compound of formula (1) can be manufactured by reacting a fluoride salt with a nitrofuroxan compound to substitute the nitro group with a fluoro group. The compound of formula (2) can be manufactured by subjecting the compounds of formula (1) to isomerization by irradiation with light.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus includes an image storage memory, a calculation circuitry, a level decision circuitry, and an output interface circuitry. The image storage memory stores data of a plurality of images in different respiratory phases. The calculation circuitry calculates a motion amount of a region between the plurality of images for each pixel or area. The level decision circuitry decides a level concerning a severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for each pixel or area. The output interface circuitry outputs information concerning the decided level.
Abstract:
An axial flow blood pump comprises: an impeller (2) that rotates around an axis and is provided with axial flow blades on the peripheral surface thereof, a permanent magnet inside the impeller (2), and a dynamic bearing or a pivot bearing; a first casing (5) that surrounds the peripheral surface of the impeller (2) and is provided with an intake port (11); an annular fixed element (6) that generates a rotating magnetic field in the impeller (2) and can be fitted onto the outer surface of the first casing (5); an outlet port (12); a second casing (3) that is provided with guide vanes (diffusers) (31) in the inner surface thereof; and a socket member (4) that is fittably and securely mounted onto the outer peripheral surface of the second casing (3) and is provided with a joining portion that can join with the fixed element (6).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of modifying a targeted site of a double stranded DNA, including a step of contacting a complex wherein a nucleic acid sequence-recognizing module that specifically binds to a target nucleotide sequence in a selected double stranded DNA and a nucleic acid base converting enzyme are bonded, with the double stranded DNA, to convert one or more nucleotides in the targeted site to other one or more nucleotides or delete one or more nucleotides, or insert one or more nucleotides into the targeted site, without cleaving at least one chain of the double stranded DNA in the targeted site.
Abstract:
A scattering tomography method includes: radiating waves to an object from a plurality of transmitting antenna elements aligned on a side surface of a case; receiving scattered waves by a plurality of receiving antenna elements aligned on the side surface of the case; and reconstructing an image relating to information on an interior of the object using scattered wave data representing the scattered waves. In the reconstructing, a reconstruction function for reconstructing the image relating to the information on the interior of the object is set in advance for a three-dimensional space having the same shape as the case, a scattering field equation which the reconstruction function satisfies is constructed, a visualization function that is obtained by solving the scattering field equation is derived from the scattered wave data, and the image relating to the information on the interior of the object is reconstructed using the visualization function.
Abstract:
A radiotherapy spacer is disclosed that has both flexibility for allowing it to gently cover the organs of various shapes along their surfaces and pressure resistance for preventing itself from being crushed under the pressure between organs and thus enabling it to retain its own shape and continuously ensure the therapeutic space. The spacer comprises a fiber assembly formed of entangled biocompatible fibers, which may be bioabsorbable, such as nonwoven fabric, and is characterized in that the density of the fiber assembly is 0.05 g/cm3 to 0.2 g/cm3.
