The ink is substantially the same color as the imaging element background and remains substantially hidden until the imaging element background changes color when heated.     摘要: A process of making an image element having an imperceptible message that becomes readily apparent when the image element is exposed to an excessive amount of heat and/or UV radiation is provided. The process comprises providing a first thermally sensitive coating on at least a first portion of the image element; pre-printing a first mark on the first portion of the image element, wherein the first pre-printed mark comprises non-thermally sensitive ink. The image element may be associated with a material such that, upon becoming readily apparent, the imperceptible message provides a warning that the material has been exposed to excessive heat and/or UV radiation.

    摘要: A printing machine for printing security features onto a web. The machine has a first printing cylinder defining a first circumference and carrying a first number (m) of rows of first image elements, each adjacent row of first image elements having a first circumferential separation. The machine also has a second printing cylinder defining a second circumference, different to the first circumference, and carrying a second number (n) of rows of second image elements, different to the first number (m) of rows, where each adjacent row of second image elements has the same first circumferential separation as adjacent rows of first image elements. The printing cylinders are operable to print the first and second image elements in registration on a web so that composite security features are created on the web from the first and second image elements.

    摘要: A device for validating a secure tag comprises: an optical source (such as one or more LEDs); a processor coupled to the optical source for controlling emissions therefrom; and a luminescence detector coupled to the processor. The processor is programmed to control the optical source to create a first and a second pulse sequence having first and second excitation parameters respectfully. The processor is also programmed to control the luminescence detector to measure first and second luminescence in response to the first and second pulse sequences respectively. The processor is programmed to validate the secure tag in the event that the first and second luminescence meet an acceptance criterion. A method of validating a secure tag is also described.
