Abstract: Various aspects are described for schemes that address the potential puncturing of important reference signals (RSs) for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) applications, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS), channel state information reference signal (CSIRS), tracking reference signal, and general reference signal. The schemes can be used for recovery of eMBB's RS puncturing from dynamic multiplexing of ultra-reliable-low-latency communications (URLLC) and eMBB. The schemes include a block-based scheme and an over-provisioning scheme. The schemes modify an existing RS pattern before puncturing occurs in response to a presence of the URLLC traffic. In addition, there can be an option not to use (e.g., disable) time-domain orthogonal cover code (TD-OCC) for the RSs.

An exemplary method includes determining a configuration of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs), wherein the configuration indicates a set of resource elements (REs) to be used for CSI-RSs and a first mapping of CSI-RS ports to the set of REs; sending an indication of the configuration of the CSI-RSs; and transmitting the CSI-RSs according to the determined configuration.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at a UE. The apparatus switches from a first, active BWP to a second, active BWP. Then, the apparatus measures a first radio link quality of a configured CORESET TCI or a beam failure detection RS upon switching to the second, active BWP. For example, the apparatus may switch the active BWP based on detecting an expiration of a BWP inactivity timer. The apparatus may then determine based on a threshold radio link quality whether to perform a measurement of a second radio link quality of a beam failure recovery candidate resource set or to continue to monitor the configured CORESET TCI in the second, active BWP.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards sounding reference signal (SRS) antenna switching are disclosed. In one example, an SRS configuration is received from a network in which at least four antennas of a scheduled entity are configured based on the SRS configuration. Here, the SRS configuration configures at least one antenna to simultaneously support SRS antenna switching and an uplink (UL) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication. An SRS communication is then transmitted according to the SRS configuration. In another example, a transmission capability reporting is received from a scheduled entity comprising at least four antennas. A determination is then made of whether the scheduled entity may simultaneously support SRS antenna switching and an UL MIMO communication. An SRS configuration is then generated for the scheduled entity based on the determination in which a default SRS configuration configures at least one antenna to simultaneously support the SRS antenna switching and the UL MIMO communication.

Certain aspects relate to a method including assigning a continuous set of numbers to a plurality of communication resources of a communication channel in order by frequency, the communication channel comprising a plurality of frequency resources and a plurality of time resources, wherein the plurality of communication resources are discontinuous in frequency and assigned to frequency resources associated with indices that are discontinuous. The method further includes mapping uplink control information to the plurality of communication resources based on the continuous set of numbers assigned to the plurality of communication resources. The method further includes one of transmitting or receiving the uplink control information in the plurality of communication resources based on the mapping.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a wireless device that communicates with another wireless device utilizing self-contained subframes. The wireless device communicates with a scheduling entity utilizing a plurality of self-contained subframes that include a first subframe and a second subframe. Each of the self-contained subframes includes an uplink (UL) portion and a downlink (DL) portion. The wireless device further receives DL control information from the scheduling entity in the DL portion of the first subframe, and transmits UL data that includes a plurality of reference signal bursts to the scheduling entity in the UL portion of the first subframe. The plurality of reference signal bursts are uniformly spaced in at least a portion of the UL portion of the first subframe.
