    摘要: An anode structure for a magnetron provides for low eddy currents and efficient water cooling. The anode structure may be made by machining a bimetal blank including an out layer of a first metal and an inner layer of a second metal and formed by explosion bonding. The second metal has a resistivity lower than first metal and a thermal conductivity higher than the first metal. The machining may result in the anode structure with vanes each having a center (tip) portion made of the second metal and the rest made of the first metal. The machined anode structure may be coated with the second metal.

    摘要: The present invention provides a relativistic magnetron including an anode with an entrant channel, the channel having an input end, an output end and a dimensional discontinuity between the ends. The channel is connected to the magnetron and has an anode defining an interaction space located between the dimensional discontinuity and output end. Also provided is a cathode, located upstream, a spaced distance away from the interaction space towards the input end, the cathode is adapted to send an electron beam into the interaction space where the electron beam forms a virtual cathode in the interaction space.

    摘要: An electronic transmitter or receiver employing electromagnetic radiation as a coded signal carrier is described. In the transmitter, the electromagnetic radiation is emitted from ultra-small resonant structures when an electron beam passes proximate the structures. In the receiver, the electron beam passes near ultra-small resonant structures and is altered in path or velocity by the effect of the electromagnetic radiation on structures. The electron beam is accelerated within a series of spiral-shaped anodes to an appropriate current density without the use of a high power supply. Instead, a sequence of low power levels is supplied to the sequence of anodes in the electron beam path. The electron beam is thereby accelerated to a desired current density appropriate for the transmitter or receiver application without the need for a high-level power source.

    摘要: A biasing system for use with a multi-stage depressed collector of a high power amplifier includes one or more adjustable power sources. A power controller provides control signals to the power sources depending on the operational RF power level. For low power applications, biasing of collector electrodes is reduced such that savings in energy costs are realized, and operational temperature and wear are reduced. The control signals are based on values stored in a look-up table. For multiple depressed electrodes, biasing can be controlled in tandem or independently.
