Abstract:
A flywheel device for a prime mover, which enables stable transmission of torque from a prime mover to a driven shaft, and can be formed compact in size. A first flywheel is provided on the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. A second flywheel has a friction surface, and is connected to the input shaft of a transmission via a friction switch for urging the friction surface. A spring mechanism is connected between the two flywheels, for damping torsional vibrations of the crankshaft. The first and second flywheels has a groove that is formed in one of them, and extends circumferentially at a radial location corresponding to the friction surface, a flange that is formed in the other of them, and is fitted in the groove, and a brush bearing provided in the groove for rotatably supporting the flywheels.
Abstract:
A plurality of click portions is formed integrally with a unit body. The click portions are arranged on a common circular track, and a dial is engaged with the click portions so as to be unstable and to be prevented from slipping off. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide a D spring for coupling the dial to a shaft so as to be unstable and to be prevented from slipping off. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the number of components and a cost.
Abstract:
A lever cover 39 formed of a synthetic resin such as ABS as a material is allowed to pass along a lever shaft 39, and the lever cover 39 is fitted and held on a lever base 32. An exterior surface of the lever cover 39 is formed into a spherical surface which is defined about a pivot center P (an oscillation center of a lever main body 3). A shift panel 4 is an extrusion molded product of a synthetic resin as a material thereof and has at a central portion thereof a rectangular opening 41 through which the lever main body 3 is allowed to extend and which is larger than a large-diameter portion of a shift knob 38. A peripheral edge portion 42 of the opening 41 confronts the lever cover 39 with a certain gap provided therebetween.
Abstract:
A parking brake for a vehicle includes a lever holder including a housing that has a first flat side and a second flat side and a brake actuation lever pivotably arranged on the lever holder. The brake actuation lever is articulated to the first flat side and to the second flat side. The parking brake also includes a locking arrangement for holding the brake actuation lever in a locking position, a brake cable, and a deflection lever pivotably articulated to the first flat side and to the second flat side of the housing. The deflection lever is pivotably linked with the brake actuation lever. In addition, the parking brake includes a coupling unit disposed on the deflection lever for tensioning the brake cable during a displacement of the brake actuation lever.
Abstract:
A flexible plate is formed with a first rigidity about a first axis and a second rigidity about a second axis where the first and second axis are each perpendicular to a central axia about which the flexible plate is rotatable. The first rigidity is greater than the second rigidity such that the flexible plate may flex more easily about the second axis than the first axis, thus providing the flexible plate with an anisotropic flexural rigidity. In one embodiment, the flexible plate is formed with an eliptical intermediate portion. In another embodiment, the flexible plate includes first and second plates. Each plate has a central portion. The first plate has first foot portions and the second plate has second foot portions. The first and second foot portions have differing circumferential widths.
Abstract:
A manual quick change tool changer, said tool changer including a master plate. The master plate connected to a rotatable sprocket with the sprocket having a plurality of teeth. A thrust bearing engaging the sprocket. A handle connected to the sprocket such that the handle moves a predetermined distance. The tool changer further including a secondary plate that mates with the master plate. The secondary plate further including a plurality of leaves such that the plurality of teeth from the master plate locks underneath the leaves of the secondary plate to secure the master plate to the secondary plate.
Abstract:
A jack extension handle assembly that includes first and second elongated segments or extensions connectable together to provide a stable, extended jack handle. At the end of its solid rod-shaped body, one handle extension includes a tapered plug connector. A tapered socket connector at the end of the solid, rod-shaped body of the other handle extension mates with the plug connector during assembly of the handle. The plug and socket taperings account for forging tolerances so as to ensure a proper force-transmitting engagement between the handle extensions. The handle assembly also includes a retainer clip which externally mounts on the two handle extensions to prevent inadvertent separation of the handle extensions during use.
Abstract:
A cranking device for use with a winch having a crankable shaft, the cranking device comprising an engagement member selectively engageable with an end of the crankable shaft in a loose fitting relationship such that the engagement member may be rotated relative to the shaft end, a handle fixed to the engagement member for cranking same, a locking mechanism provided with the engagement member for locking the engagement member onto the end of the crankable shaft in the loose fitting relationship such that the shaft may be cranked together with the engagement member under relatively low torque. Additionally, the engagement member is preferably formed as a socket having a plurality of spacer members provided on an inner surface thereof for engaging the shaft end when the socket is fitted thereover such that a gap is defined between an outer periphery of the shaft and an inner periphery of the socket.
Abstract:
A flywheel assembly is provided for transmitting torque from a crankshaft 2 to a main drive shaft 3. The flywheel assembly 1 basically includes a first flywheel 4, a second flywheel 5, a damper mechanism 6, a bearing 17 and a flexible plate 41. The flywheel assembly is designed to suppress the transmission of bending vibrations to the second flywheels. The second flywheel 5 is disposed adjacent to a side of the first flywheel 4 which is remote from the crankshaft 2. The damper mechanism 6 elastically couples the first and second flywheels 4 and 5 together in the circumferential direction. The flexible plate 41 is arranged axially between the first and second flywheels 4 and 5 for supporting the second flywheel 5 with respect to the first flywheel 4. The flexible plate 41 is flexible in the bending direction. The bearing 17 is arranged between the flexible plate 41 and one of the first and second flywheels 4 and 5.
Abstract:
A window operating system for moving a vehicle window up and down that includes an electric drive motor having a gear coupled to a window movement mechanism through a magnetic clutch assembly wherein the drive gear includes a crank extending outwardly therefrom and through the door facing surface and is selectively connectable to a roll up crank having a fold out handle and a protruding socket member. The door facing surface includes a cavity or chamber into which the emergency crank can be stored and rapidly retrieved in an emergency. The magnetic clutch is only engaged when the power is supplied to the electric motor in either direction.
