Abstract: Methods for producing proppants with a fluorinated polyurethane proppant coating are provided. The methods include coating the proppant particles with a strengthening agent, a strengthening agent, and a resin to produce proppants with fluorinated polyurethane proppant coating. Additionally, a proppant comprising a proppant particle and a fluorinated polyurethane proppant coating is provided. The fluorinated polyurethane proppant coating includes a strengthening agent, a strengthening agent, and a resin. The fluorinated polyurethane proppant coating coats the proppant particle. Additionally, a method for increasing a rate of hydrocarbon production from a subsurface formation through the use of the proppants is provided.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for supporting a pipeline in a trench. The disclosure is directed to the placement of urea-silicate sprayable or pumpable foams into trenches to provide pipeline pillow supports during placement of the pipeline and to form trench breakers in the trench prior to the trench being backfilled. The pillow supports and trench breakers inhibit erosion of the trench prior to and after being backfilled. The urea-silicate foam material has an open cell content of at least 50% to resist floatation, is non-flammable and electrically conductive. Also disclosed is use of supports for placement between the urea-silicate foam and the bottom of the trench to aid in utilization of the urea-silicate foams in cold weather conditions and in trenches with steeply sloped bottoms. Preferably the supports are biodegradable and electrically conductive when wet.

Abstract: A high-resiliency polyurethane foam comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component. The isocyanate-reactive component comprises a first polyether polyol in an amount of greater than about 5 parts by weight and a second polyether polyol in an amount of less than about 80 parts by weight, with parts by weight based on the total weight of the isocyanate-reactive component. The high-resiliency polyurethane foam has a resilience of about 45 to about 70% when tested in accordance with ASTM D3574-11. A method of forming a high-resiliency polyurethane foam includes the steps of providing the isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component and reacting the isocyanate and the isocyanate-reactive component.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for reducing the aldehyde content in an amine catalyst by treating the amine catalyst with a treating agent selected from a non-cyclic amide substituted with an isocyanate reactive group, a guanidine substituted with an isocyanate reactive group, a polyether amine adducted with a urea compound or a guanidine compound, a free radical scavenger and a mixture thereof. The treated amine catalyst may then be used in the production of polyurethane materials which exhibit reduced aldehyde emissions.
