摘要: A wall of a building is constructed by joining a plurality of partition units of substantially U-like cross-sectional shape. During storage or transportation, the partition units are grouped into a telescoped assembly by forcing each partition unit into the internal space of another. During construction of the wall, the partition units are successively drawn to be joined together while being engaged at the upper or lower end thereof by a guide member thereby providing continuous flat partition wall surfaces. Then, a filler material is usually filled in the internal space of the joined partition units to complete the wall, but such filling work can be dispensed with where ready installing and disassembling is desired or where insulation against heat and or sound is not required.

摘要: The apparatus disclosed includes an elongated reinforcing member with stress anchors attached to each end for embedding in a body of hardenable material, such as concrete, when the material is cast into the desired shape for the structural member. The apparatus includes a member containing potential energy. After the material has hardened, the potential energy is released to place the material between the stress anchors in compression to prestress the structural member before it is placed in service.

摘要: This application discloses a method of making a multi-webbed steel panel. It discloses the preparation of a starting sandwich comprising top and bottom plates and a plurality of web bars therebetween. The web bars are coated on both sides with a weldstop material except for stripes along opposite edges on opposite sides thereof. The assembled sandwich is fixed in position by means of edge bars and end bars, all of which are welded to the top and bottom plates to completely enclose the sandwich and to prevent shifting during rolling. This sandwich is then hot rolled in a series of passes to produce a reduction of at least 25:1 and even up to 75:1 to produce a long length of strip which is then sheared to length and the panel opened up by conventional means. Details of the stop-weld material and the manner of applying it are disclosed as well as rolling considerations involved.

摘要: In a wall panel for use within a building, a U-shaped wall retainer panel member defining the upper termination surface of the wall panel is normally utilized for attaching the wall panel to the room ceiling. The wall retainer panel member has downwardly extending legs on which are formed coupling means for the attachment of components of the wall panel. The base surface of the panel member is provided with longitudinally spaced tab means for the attachment of a cover member that extends outwardly and downwardly from the upper surface of the wall panel to conceal the legs of the wall retainer panel member. An extension clip having a U-shaped cross section is provided with coupling means on its legs which, at selected locations along the length of the wall retainer panel member are engagable between the coupling means of the panel member to attach the clip to the panel member. The legs of the extension clip are provided with second coupling means that are downwardly spaced from the first coupling means and vertically aligned therewith. The clip is attachable to the components of the wall panel in the same manner as the wall retainer panel member and, similarly, is concealed by the cover member. The space formed between the legs of the extension clip and the space formed between the extension clip and the cover member facilitate the passage of wiring within the wall panel.

摘要: A grid for a suspended tile ceiling in the main runner of which the web section is formed with a laterally offset flange at one edge and a tubular bead at the opposed edge, and with a plurality of spaced slots for receiving the ends of cross runners. The main runner has a longitudinally extending slit formed therein below each slot in proximity to the lower edge of the runner, and longitudinally extending slits formed in opposed wall portions of the bead above each slot. The cross runners of the grid may have similar longitudinally extending slits formed in the web and bead at a midpoint thereof.

摘要: This composite high-strength bushing consists of a heavy-loadbearing sleeve of sintered powdered high-performance alloy and a lesser-load-bearing support sleeve of sintered base metal such as sintered powdered iron. The outer sleeve has an internal taper while the inner sleeve has a matching external taper, both sleeves being separately formed from their respective powdered metals by suitable dies in conventional briquetting presses and thereafter sintered and forged by forcing them together in a hotforging press at a high temperature. The outer and inner sleeves are thereby firmly and inseparably joined by high heat and pressure and interlocked by the migration of minute portions of one of the metals past minute portions of the other metal across the tapered interface therebetween, thereby forming an intermediate zone of the intermingled metals encircling the interface. A modification employs tapers of slightly different convergence between the outer and inner sleeves but also results in a similarly-inseparable interlocking connection by a similar migration of the metals into an intermediate zone encircling the interface.

摘要: A building wall panel having improved marginal connecting means on opposite panel sides, providing an improved side joint between adjacent ones of the building wall panel. One marginal connecting means comprises a channellike female lip presenting opposed inner surfaces. The other marginal connecting means comprises a male lip including a reverse turned flange presenting a free edge. When the male and female lips are interengaged, the free edge of the reverse turned flange is resiliently urged into line contact along substantially its entire length with one of the opposed inner surfaces thereby to provide a gasket-free, essentially weathertight joint.
