摘要: High-efficiency thermal insulation products and methods for use thereof for use in insulating buildings, residential homes, and other enclosed environments. In one arrangement, a thermal insulation product includes a substantially gas-impermeable envelope having first and second opposing surfaces and a sealed interior portion between the first and second opposing surfaces, a support material within the sealed interior portion of the gas-impermeable envelope, and at least about 2 grams of a liquid per liter of a total volume of the sealed interior portion within the sealed interior portion. At least a portion of the liquid is operable to cyclically evaporate from adjacent one of the first and second opposing surfaces and subsequently condense adjacent the other of the first and second opposing surfaces depending on temperature differences between the first and second opposing surfaces.

摘要: A sound-absorbing material has a membrane having multiple piezoelectric fibers, the fiber density of the membrane is below 50 g/m2, the thickness of the membrane is below 1 mm, sound-absorbing coefficient of the membrane is larger than 0.1 at absorbing frequency at 100 Hz+/−10%, and the sound-absorbing coefficient of the membrane is over 0.05 at absorbing frequency at 800 Hz to 1000 Hz. PVDF electrospinning nanofiber membranes of the present invention are thinner and more flexible compared to conventional sound-absorbing material, the membranes in the present invention performs excellent low frequency sound absorption with very thin membrane.

摘要: The invention relates to a thermal insulation device comprising at least one panel (100) provided with two walls (110, 120) separated by a peripheral main spacer (102) in order to define a gas-tight chamber (104) containing a partial vacuum, and at least two flexible films (150, 160) locally attached to secondary spacers (140) at intermediate points between the two walls (110, 120) and defining tight secondary compartments (158) between each other. As a result of applying successive potentials of selected polarity between the walls (110, 120) and the flexible films (150, 160), the flexible films (150, 160) are moved between a first thermal insulation position wherein the films (150, 160) are separated from each other and a second position wherein the films (150, 160) are in mutual contact at least on a substantial part of the surface thereof.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a mineral fiber thermal insulation product comprises the sequential steps of: Forming mineral fibers from a molten mineral mixture; spraying a substantially formaldehyde free binder solution on to the mineral fibers, the binder solution comprising: a reducing sugar, an acid precursor derivable from an inorganic salt and a source of nitrogen; Collecting the mineral fibers to which the binder solution has been applied to form a batt of mineral fibers; and Curing the batt comprising the mineral fibers and the binder which is in contact with the mineral fibers by passing the batt through a curing oven so as to provide a batt of mineral fibers held together by a substantially water insoluble cured binder.

摘要: A cover for closing an access opening that leads to an infrequently used space within a building, such as an attic, that generally provides an air seal, thermal insulation and/or acoustic insulation at the access opening. The cover may be in one or two portions, including a closure alone or a closure and a frame having an aperture that can be closed by engagement between the closure and the frame. When the cover is used alone it engages a frame or a wall circumscribing the access opening. The cover is sized and shaped to close a stairwell, or the opening at one end of a stairway, an opening in a generally vertical wall, a hatch, or a pull down ladder. The closure and frame are each made of one or more components.

A plurality of new trusses may be supported at an apex of the existing roof that overhanging the existing outer walls and the insulation, the trusses sloping direction of the slope of the existing roof.

摘要: A less costly multi-layer acoustical panel having improved noise absorption properties includes a fiberglass layer and a mineral wool layer wherein the fiberglass layer has a fibrous content comprising at least about 50% by weight of glass fiber and the mineral wool layer has a fibrous content comprising at least about 50% by weight of mineral wool fiber. The noise absorption coefficient of the panel is linearly related to increases in the thickness of the fiberglass layer. A lamination technique for making the panels is also disclosed.
