Abstract: The present disclosure provides derivatives of amino acids that have surface-active properties. The amino acid can be naturally-occurring or synthetic, or they may be obtained via a ring-opening reaction of a lactam, such as caprolactam. The amino acid may be functionalized to form a compound that is surface-active and have advantageous surfactant characteristics. The compounds of the present disclosure have low critical micelle concentrations (CMC) as well as superior ability to lower the surface tension of a liquid.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a particulate carbon material that can be produced from renewable raw materials, in particular from biomass containing lignin, comprising: a 14C content that corresponds to that of the renewable raw materials, said content being preferably greater than 0.20 Bq/g carbon, especially preferably greater than 0.23 Bq/g carbon, but preferably less than 0.45 Bq/g carbon in each case; a carbon content in relation to the ash-free dry substance of between 60 ma. % and 80 ma. %; an STSA surface area of the primary particles of at least 5 m2/g and at most 200 m2/g; and an oil absorption value (OAN) of between 50 ml/100 g and 150 ml/100 g. The present invention also relates to a method for producing said carbon material and to the use thereof.

Abstract: A dispersion comprising a solid particulate component such as a pigment, a dispersing agent and one or more solvents is disclosed. The dispersing agent comprises a reaction product of (a) an epoxidised carboxylic acid ester; (b) a compound including at least one reactive alcohol and/or amino functional group; and (c) a derivatising agent. Such a dispersion shows excellent long-term stability. Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of producing a nano Omega-3 microemulsion system includes: (i) preparing a dispersal phase by heating Omega-3; (ii) preparing a carrier by heating a liquid PEG (polyethylene glycol); (iii) adding the carrier to the dispersal phase; (iv) emulsifying as follows: when the temperature arrives at 60° C., adding ACRYSOL K-140 to the mixture of the carrier and dispersal phase in step (iii), continuing to stir at a speed of 500 to 700 rpm, at a temperature of 60 to 80° C., in vacuum, for 3 to 5 hours, controlling the quality of resulting product by dissolving into water and measuring the transparency, the reaction is quenched, the temperature is decreased slowly until it is in the range of 40 to 60° C.; emulsifying for the entire mixture for 30 minutes; (v) filtrating the product by injecting through nanofilter system before filling-packaging.
