Abstract: A method of coating at least one silica capillary using a novel dual ligand sol-gel sorbent and method of manufacture of such sorbent is provided herein. The dual ligand sol-gel sorbent provides superior enrichment effects through simultaneous exploitation of superhydrophobicity of one of the ligands and the ability of the other ligand to undergo π-π interaction with hydrophobic aromatic analytes. Sorbent performance is enhanced both in terms of analyte enrichment and sorbent stability, such as pH stability and solvent stability.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tin-free, room temperature curable silicone elastomer composition, wherein the uncured composition is a putty. The silicone elastomer composition comprises a) an end-capped base polymer, wherein the base polymer comprises a polysiloxane or mixture of polysiloxanes, and wherein the end-capped base polymer comprises terminal di-(C1-4)alkoxy silyl groups; b) at least one amorphous filler; c) 15.1 to 60 parts by weight of at least one spherical filler for each 100 parts by weight of base polymer; and d) a curing catalyst consisting of one or more selected from the group consisting of organic titanates and organic zirconates. The terminal dialkoxy silyl groups of the base polymer can be dimethoxy silyl groups. The at least one amorphous filler can be selected from the group consisting of fumed silica, fumed alumina, carbon black, precipitated silica, precipitated calcium carbonate, surface-treated calcium carbonate and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: Provided is an antistatic silicone rubber composition. The composition comprises at least one potassium salt selected from the group consisting of a potassium alkyl phosphate, potassium bis(trialkylsily)amide, potassium dialkyl amide, potassium sulfate, potassium phenoxide, and potassium permanganate, in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 15 mass % of the composition. In general, the composition may comprise: (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst; and (D) the at least one potassium salt as described above. The composition generally exhibits good curability, and cures to form a silicone rubber exhibiting excellent antistatic properties.

An addition-curable self-adhesive silicone rubber composition which contains:

a predetermined amount of (B-2) an organohydrogen polysiloxane which contains at least two hydrogen atoms that are bonded to silicon atoms in each molecule, and which does not contain an aromatic group;
a predetermined amount of (C) a platinum-based catalyst;
a predetermined amount of (D) a benzotriazole derivative; and
a predetermined amount of (E) an acetylene alcohol compound or a compound which is obtained by modifying an alcoholic hydroxyl group of the acetylene alcohol compound with a silane or a siloxane.-
