摘要： A method of manufacturing bags that are rectangular when collapsed and which comprise two superimposed flat sides, sealed at the edges, and a handle member. The method comprises the steps of: laying out a web forming three parallel subordinate webs, one extending longitudinally in the middle and one on each lateral side thereof; folding two top flanks out of the middle subordinate web to create a handle-top portion; V-folding a center strip of the middle subordinate web to create a handle member; providing the handle member with a finger slot and with depressions that allow the middle part to be pulled apart along the handle member to form a gusset; bringing the two lateral subordinate webs together; and attaching the lateral subordinate webs together along seams to create bag edges and cutting off the bags along their edges.

Paper handles are glued to the carrier bags in a handle application unit. The carrier bags are fed from the bag machine with the bottoms leading to the handle application unit. After the handles have been glued to the bags, the bags are removed, again with the bottoms leading.

摘要： A cargo container comprising a container body defining an interior cargo space, a flexible and expandable liner secured inside the container body, a bulkhead positioned in the container body and held against the liner, and bracing apparatus to brace the bulkhead in the cargo container. A first embodiment of the bracing apparatus includes a plurality of vertical beams connected to a floor of the container body, horizontally spaced apart and vertically extending upward against the bulkhead; and a multitude of cross beams connected to the vertical beam to held hold those beams upright. A second embodiment of the bracing apparatus includes a plurality of upwardly extending straps and a plurality of laterally extending straps. These upwardly extending straps are connected to and extend between a floor and a ceiling of the container body, and are positioned against the bulkhead; and the laterally extending straps of this bracing apparatus are connected to and extend between left and right sidewalls of the container body, and are also positioned against the bulkhead.

摘要： A system for suspending a pack of thermoplastic bags, loading bags, removing loaded bags and for automatically opening the next bag preparatory to loading it by having a pack of handled bags suspended from laterally spaced elongated rods of a rack. The bags have been corona discharge treated in the handle and bag mouth region to such an extent that the pressure and cutting action during the formation thereof will cause adjacently facing cut edge regions to releasably adhere together until a moderate force separates them. During removal of a bag from the bag pack at least a portion of the cut edge of the mouth and handle region of the front wall of the next bag will follow the bag being removed for a short distance before separation thereby opening the next bag rendering it ready for loading.

摘要： The instant invention relates to a handled thermoplastic bag made of a thermoplastic film comprising a high density polyethylene or a major amount of high density polyethylene and a minor amount of one or more other polymers, e.g., linear low density polyethylene. The handled bag is characterized by a front and rear bag wall, a closed bottom and an open mouth top portion having a pair of laterally spaced handles, said front and rear bag walls, between said handles defining an open bag mouth and is further characterized as comprising a smoother cut-out edge at corner portions of the open bag mouth than provided at said lower mouth edge whereby the smoother cut-out edge of the corner portion reduces the tendency of the thermoplastic film to tear at the corner when subjected to stress.

Attachment of the handle loop is accomplished in part by inserting at least one section of the string or similar material between two material layers of the encasing member, which are joined together by means of adhesive, whereby a channel is created between the layers of material through which said section of the handle member extends and in part by the nonuniformity in cross sectional shape over the length of said string or similar material when positioned in said channel in the completed package and by giving the channel such a form, the its shape and dimensions at least to a certain extent follow said nonuniformity in the string. The handle member is thereby secured to the encasing member even when the handle member is pulled in the longitudinal direction of the channel.
