    摘要: A device for pre-emption in passive optical networks may include a first media access control (MAC) module configured to receive a first type of data traffic and transmit the first type of data traffic to a MAC merge module. The device may further include a second media access control (MAC) module configured to receive a second type of data traffic and transmit the second type of data traffic to the MAC merge module. The device may further include the MAC merge module configured to receive the first and second types of data traffic from the first and second MAC modules, respectively, and provide the first and second types of data traffic for transmission over a port. The MAC merge module may be configured to pre-empt the transmission of the first type of data traffic over the port in favor of the second type of data traffic.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for service control on an access node, where the access node is divided into at least one access node control protocol ANCP partition, and each ANCP partition corresponds to one network access server NAS. The method includes: obtaining, according to a set rule, a logical identifier of a physical object managed by an ANCP partition, where each logical identifier is used for identifying one physical object, and saving an obtained logical identifier in the ANCP partition; and obtaining, according to the logical identifier in the ANCP partition, an access topology of the physical object managed by the ANCP partition, and reporting the access topology in the ANCP partition to a corresponding NAS, so that the corresponding NAS performs service control according to a reported access topology.

    摘要: The disclosure discloses a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPOE) configuration method for a Gigabit-Capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) system. The method comprises: an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) instructing an Optical Network Unit (ONU) to create or delete a PPPoE management object instance and associate the PPPoE management object instance with an IP host config data management object instance; and the ONU creating the PPPoE management object instance according to the creation instruction from the OLT, and turning on a PPPoE function switch in the IP host config data management object instance; or the ONU deleting the PPPoE management object instance according to the deletion instruction from the OLT, and turning of the PPPoE function switch in the IP host config data management object instance. The disclosure also discloses a GPON system. With the disclosure, the problem that the existing GPON system cannot support accessing in a manner of PPPoE dial-up is solved, and the PPPoE scenario requirements are met.

    摘要: A virtual converged cable access platform (CCAP) system and method for hybrid fiber CATV (HFC) cable networks. The system uses a new type of digital optical fiber node configured to receive optical fiber data packets, and reconstitute the optical data packets into RF waveforms suitable for injection into the system's CATV cable. The system replaces the legacy HFC head end with a simplified “virtual head end”. The system's virtual head end operates using a new type of virtual CCAP controller and virtual CCAP software that in turn controls high performance edge routers. Much of the intelligence of running the HFC cable system is managed by the controller software, while the edge router manages the interface between the CATV portion of the system and outside networks. The system can handle even legacy CATV RF signals by appropriate conversion operations, while reducing power and space needs, and improving operational flexibility.
