Each branch comprises a subsampler (20a,b) for sub-sampling sample values of the input signal at the phase corresponding to the branch, a filter (24a,b) with a first FIR filter (32, 34), applied alternatingly to sets of even and to sets of odd samples from the subsampler (20a,b) and a second FIR filter (36, 38) applied to further sets of odd and even samples from the subsampler (20a,b) when the first FIR filter is applied to the even and odd sets respectively. In one embodiment, the filter comprising a delay line having N taps and a corresponding respective N filter coefficients. Values for the filter coefficients are determined by first shifting an impulse function of length N by a fraction of N so as to obtain a shifted impulse function. An analytic-signal-generating method is then applied to the impulse function so as to output the filter coefficient values. The values are then assigned to the N taps to complete the filter.

    摘要: A bandpass delta-sigma modulator converts a signal of a nominal frequency to an oversampled digital signal. Digital decimation filter decimates the signal by multiplying the signal by first and second modulating signals. The modulating signals are selected to have a frequency which can produce a baseband signal with a nominal frequency of &pgr;*/3. By using an oversampling rate of 6 times the carrier frequency signal rate, the modulation signal of a frequency &pgr;*/3 produces a real and imaginary signal. The real and imaginary signal can be filtered in first and second filtering decimation circuits reducing the number of signal processing paths for the signal. The decimated signal is further filtered and decimated using conventional digital filtering techniques.
