    摘要: An exhaust throttling valve (12) is provided for a vehicle. The valve includes a body structure (16, 41) having a bore (47) there-through. A shaft (28) is supported by the body structure for rotational movement. A valve member (34) is associated with the shaft such rotational movement of the shaft rotates the valve member. The valve member is disposed in the bore and is constructed and arranged to rotate between a first position substantially closing the bore and a second position at least partly opening the bore. A hard stop (56) is associated with the shaft so as to rotate therewith. First and second adjustment structures (52, 54) are constructed and arranged so that upon rotation of the shaft in one direction, the hard stop engages the first adjustment structure and upon rotation of the shaft in a direction opposite the one direction, the hard stop engages the second adjustment structure, thus limiting travel of the valve member.

In order to avoid the tap becoming jammed in the open position, the stop mechanism that limits the movement of the operating member comprises of an abutment (44) and a counterabutment (46) with frontal contact, which are arranged respectively on a rotary element and on the body (34) of the tap, or vice versa.

    摘要: A valve assembly has a valve body having an inlet passageway and an outlet passageway. A flow orifice is disposed within valve body and provides flow communication between the inlet passageway and outlet passageway. A valve seat cooperates with the flow orifice and a variable port valve plug to open and close the valve. The valve plug has a plug body with a conically-shaped smooth tapered wall, a proximal end, and a domed distal end surface that smoothly transitions into the tapered wall. The valve plug is movable between an open position out of contact with the valve seat and a closed position borne against the valve seat. A maximum open position of the valve plug relative to the valve seat can be selectively changed to vary flow characteristics through the valve assembly.

    摘要: A dual end stop is provided for setting precise open and closed positions for the valve to which the pneumatic actuator is attached. In a preferred embodiment, a stop assembly housing contains two stop adjustment bolts as well as a cam that defines first and second stop surfaces. The stop assembly housing is preferably mounted to the actuator housing outside of the pressurized zone contained by the actuator housing. The stop bolts and associated threaded apertures are designed for minimum overhang of the stop bolts to provide more support. The stop assembly housing not only preferably houses the stop assembly components but also preferably serves as an adaptor plate for the various valves to which the actuator may be mounted. The stop bolts preferably have a convex head to provide a defined point contact rather than a random point contact as may be produced with flat heads. The cam is preferably mounted between two directly adjacent bearings, at least one of which is preferably located in the stop assembly housing. The stop assembly housing is milled to fit precisely within a recess in the actuator housing for improved support and more accurate alignment as well as eliminating the need for machining more than two bolt holes for attaching the stop assembly housing to the actuator housing.
