摘要: An injection valve arrangement for a high-pressure injection of liquid fuel into a working chamber of an internal combustion engine with the arrangement including at least one valve needle which is urged by a spring force in a closing direction so that a pair of sealing cones associated with the valve needles are brought into engagement with a pair of separate valve seats. The valve needle is liftable in a direction opposite a flow direction effective in the injection process by hydraulic pressure of the fuel to be injected. Pressure chambers having a diameter larger than the respective valve seats are provided and communicate by way of appropriate ducts which merge to form a common flow cross-section. At least two separate line connectors are provided for receiving separate fuels and/or fuel components with the line connectors directing the fuels and/or fuel components to the respective pressure chambers.

摘要: A fuel injector valve has a nozzle housing with a bore therethrough having an outlet end in communication with a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The bore has a seating surface at its lower end which seats an annular ring. The annular ring has a central aperture therethrough with a seating surface at its lower open end. The aperture receives a plunger sized to leave a space between the edges of the aperture and the plunger surface. The plunger has a flanged lower section and is spring biased upwardly to have the flanged lower section contact the seating surface of the ring. The upward biasing force also forces the ring to abut the seating surface of the nozzle housing. The fluid under pressure enters the nozzle housing and forces the plunger and annular ring downward. Fluid passes through the passage between the floating ring and nozzle housing and also between a second passage between the floating ring and plunger so that a spray pattern with a cross-section of two concentric rings is formed entering the engine cylinder.

摘要: A fuel injector assembly in one embodiment includes a nozzle, at least one needle, and at least one actuator. The nozzle includes at least one cavity in fluid communication with nozzle openings. The at least one needle is movably disposed within the at least one cavity, and prevents flow through the nozzle openings in a closed position. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle within the cavity. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle to at least a first fuel delivery configuration and a second fuel delivery configuration. A first amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the first fuel delivery configuration, and a second amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the second fuel delivery configuration.

摘要: An assembly at least comprising a fuel injector for dual fuel operation of an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a nozzle holder defining a fuel circuit and provided with a nose adapted in use to be in connection with a combustion space of an internal combustion engine, and first and second nozzles in communication with the fuel circuit in the nozzle holder for directly injecting liquid fuel into the combustion space of the internal combustion engine for ignition of a combustible mixture present in the combustion space. The first and second nozzles adjacent to the nose of the nozzle holder are interconnected by a cooling channel. At each actuation of a fuel pump upstream of the first and second nozzles, substantially a full volume of fuel pumped during actuation of the fuel pump is allowed to flow through the cooling channel and via the first and second nozzles.

摘要: Hydraulically actuated gaseous fuel injectors required a relatively small pressure bias between hydraulic fluid and gaseous fuel to be able to open and to reduce hydraulic fluid contamination of the gaseous fuel. An improved hydraulically actuated gaseous fuel injector includes an injection valve in fluid communication with a gaseous fuel inlet and includes a valve member reciprocatable within a fuel injector body between a closed position and an open position. There is a lift chamber in fluid communication with a hydraulic fluid inlet such that hydraulic fluid pressure in the lift chamber contributes to an opening force applied to the valve member. A control chamber is in fluid communication with the hydraulic fluid inlet such that hydraulic fluid pressure in the control chamber contributes to a closing force applied to the valve member. A control valve is operable to reduce hydraulic fluid pressure in the control chamber such that the opening force is greater than the closing force and the valve member moves to the open position.

摘要: A dual fuel injector may be used to inject both gas and liquid fuel into a cylinder of a compression ignition engine. An injector body defines a first set of nozzle outlets, a second set of nozzle outlets, a first fuel inlet and a second fuel inlet. A dual solenoid actuator includes a first armature, a first coil, a second armature and a second coil that share a common centerline. The dual solenoid actuator has a non-injection configuration at which the first armature is at an un-energized position and the second armature is at an un-energized position. The dual solenoid actuator has a first fuel injection configuration at which the first fuel inlet is fluidly connected to the first set of nozzle outlets, the first armature is at an energized position and the second armature is at the un-energized position.
