摘要:
This application relates to tower segment handling methods and apparatus and, in particular, to methods and apparatus for handling segments of steel wind turbine towers. The wind turbine tower comprises a plurality of cylindrical vertical tower sections, which in the finished tower are mounted on top of one another. The vertical section of the tower has a longitudinal axis and comprises a plurality of wind turbine tower segments, the tower segments have vertical and horizontal edges and combine to form a complete vertical tower section by joining along their vertical edges. Adjacent vertical tower sections are joined to each other along the horizontal edges of the wind turbine tower segments. The tower segments are combined into a tower section using a flat roller bed on which the segments can be assembled. A method of assembling a tower section is discussed.

A retractable stand comprises a base and two ribbons. Each ribbon has a coiled portion and an uncoiled portion. The uncoiled portions of the ribbons have a curved cross-sectional shape and are positioned in opposing relation to each other. Preferably, the curved cross-sectional shape of each uncoiled portion defines a convex surface and a concave surface, and the convex surfaces are in facing relation to each other. In one embodiment, the retractable stand further comprises a foot brace secured to free ends of the ribbons. Preferably, the foot brace includes an arm movable relative to the ribbons. The present invention further provides a method of supporting a device above a surface using the above retractable stand. The method includes uncoiling the two ribbons, resting the brace on the surface, and supporting the device on the retractable stand. Preferably, the step of uncoiling includes moving the brace away from the base.

The present invention relates to a method for the assembly of frustoconical concrete towers comprising a step of placing and positioning of at least one subset of a tower section formed by at least two segments in an area close to the base of the tower, a step of assembling the subset of the tower section by attaching at least two segments, so that the assembled subset is freestanding and a step of stacking the assembled subset onto an immediately lower tower section.

The system comprises a limited number of equal groups of formwork pieces, each group comprising: —intermediate pieces (1) of constant curvature and width along the entire length thereof and—end pieces (2) forming two symmetrical lateral corners of triangular or trapezoidal outline, with a curvature equal to that of the intermediate pieces. This system allows for forming, with the same groups of pieces, successive formwork segments of varying or constant section for building towers. The invention also includes a building method and the tower thus obtained.

An extendable and retractable column which is formed from at least three linked sections or chains. The linked sections include a plurality of individual segments linked end to end. As the linked segments are extended, each of the individual segments of the linked chains engage individual segments of adjacent linked sections to form a column. As the linked sections are retracted, each of the individual segments of the linked sections disengage from the individual segment of the adjacent linked sections and the individual linked sections may be rolled up into a multi-sided form for compact storage.

An impact sand anchor features a body and a plurality of cantilever beams. The cantilever beams define an interior volume between the cantilever beams. The cantilever beams are generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the impact sand anchor in a first position. When the cantilever beams are driven into the sand, as by a trapped cylindrical hammer, the force of sand packed into the interior volume causes the cantilever beams to move radially away from the longitudinal axis to a second position. The movement of the cantilever beams to the second position wedges the impact sand anchor into the sand.

A tower section storage device for storing a tower section of a wind turbine tower is provided. The device comprises a central body frame defining a center point, at least three feet, and at least three tower section receiving areas (9, 9a, 9b, 9c) connected to the central body frame. All of the feet are connected to the central body frame such that they are moved away from and/or towards the center point. A method for storing a tower section, in particular of a wind turbine tower by means of such device is also provided.
