Abstract:
In a display device including a cathode filament containing a coiled portion and a linear portion thereof and a power feeding member, an end of the coiled portion is fixed to either a substrate made of an insulating material or an insulated support, the power feeding member being installed to contact with the linear portion of the cathode filament.
Abstract:
A tab for fixing a paper web end portion of a paper roll includes a substantially parallelogram-shaped base sheet having two diagonally opposite acute angles. A plurality of linear, discontinuous cuts are formed on the base sheet in parallel with two opposite sides of the base sheet to thereby define a first portion in cooperation with one of the two opposite sides and a second portion in cooperation with the other side. The cuts extend to at least one of other two opposite sides of the base sheet. Adhesive is applied to the first and second portions on the same surface such that an appropriate nonadhesive portion is formed between adhesive applied onto the first portion and adhesive applied onto the second portion. A release sheet having a size greater than that of the tab is attached to an adhesive-applied side of the tab such that a portion thereof is projected beyond the profile of the tab. Alternatively, the release sheet assumes the form of tape. The tabs are arranged on the release sheet tape in the longitudinal direction of the tape. The release sheet tape is rolled up into a tab feed roll.
Abstract:
A paper roll braking device for rotary presses, in which a web is paid off from a paper roll supported between frames, caused to travel, and printed in a printing unit, comprising rotors provided on supporting members for supporting the paper roll, braking sections provided at a plurality of locations along the rotors and having friction discs that can engage with, or disengage from, the rotors at their respective locations, engage/disengage changeover sections for controlling the engage/disengage operation of the friction discs with respect to the rotors, and a tension sensing mechanism for sensing changes in the running tension of the web; a contact pressure adjusting section for adjusting the contact pressure of the friction discs to the rotors via the engage/disengage changeover section in accordance with the changes in running tension detected by the tension sensing mechanism, an outside diameter detecting section for detecting the outside diameter of the paper roll, and an operation control section for switching the engage/disengage changeover section as the paper roll outside diameter detected by the outside diameter detecting section reaches a predetermined diameter are provided.
Abstract:
A wall is provided on one side of a web of paper or the like traveling along a predefined path, and an airstream is produced between the wall and the traveling web approximately in the direction of web travel. A transverse static pressure gradient is established across the airstream, causing the stream to flow close to the wall surface. This phenomenon is called as the Coanda effect. A partial vacuum created in the airstream causes the web to deflect from its normal path and to be drawn to the wall surface under sufficient pressure to be kept from fluttering. This method of web flutter control is applied to the splicing of webs, as from one roll to another in a web-fed rotary printing press. The web being unwound from the old roll has been susceptible to fluttering while being spliced to the new roll, such web fluttering being eliminable by providing a wall member along the web path and producing an airstream between the web and the wall member.
Abstract:
An inclined surface is formed in an upper inside wall of housing. The inclined surface inclines downwardly toward a lip seal. Lubricant oil supplied to the upper end of the inclined surface flows along the inclined surface without dropping downwardly due to surface tension, and flows to the lower end of the inclined surface then reaches the lip seal. Thus, the lubricant oil is supplied to the lip seal with certainty, thereby suppressing the wear of the lip seal and improving the durability of the compressor.
Abstract:
A performance of a compressor is enhanced and durability of scroll bodies is enhanced by optimizing relief to machining tolerance at a central end part of spiral members for forming the scroll bodies. In a scroll type compressor in which a reinforced portion (for example, a large radius of curvature R) reinforced more than in other root corner portions 5 is provided in a root corner portion 5 at a central end part in which a stress of the two spiral members 10 and 20 is increased, a first relief is formed in a region in which the two spiral members 10 and 20 come into contact with each other where the reinforced portion is applied only to one of the spiral members 10 and 20, and a second relief larger than the first relief is provided in a region in which the two spiral members come into contact with each other at a portion in which the radius of curvature R is provided in both of the two spiral members, thereby reasonably forming reliefs for avoiding interference at the point of contact of two spiral members.
Abstract:
A field emission type fluorescent display device capable of carrying out luminous display with increased reliability at an anode voltage 200V to 1000V and providing a desired luminous color by means of a filter. The fluorescent display device includes a luminous display section consisting of three display elements. The display elements include filters of red, green and blue colors on which light-permeable anode conductors are deposited, respectively. Then, the anode conductors have phosphors of the same colors as the filters deposited thereon, respectively. The blue phosphor is made of ZnO:Zn substantially containing a blue color component. Thus, a combination of the blue filter and phosphor provides light of a blue color with increased efficiency.
Abstract:
A tripod-integrated camera is provided with a camera body assembly for housing a camera and a tripod body assembly for housing a tripod, the tripod body assembly is detachably attached to the camera body assembly in such a manner so as to form an elongated, substantially integral structure.
Abstract:
A shutter device for a still video camera comprises first and second shutter blades, a latch member and an unlatch member. The latch member latches the first blade at its moved position where an image pickup element is exposed to an image light. The first blade is kept latched for a preparatory exposure to correct a set exposure value on the basis of the output of the pickup element or for picking up a motion picture. The unlatch member releases the latching of the first blade. In one embodiment, the unlatch member is provided on the second blade to unlatch the first blade when the second blade is moved to terminate the exposure. In other embodiments, the unlatch member includes an electromagnet to unlatch the first blade.A still video camera comprises a view finder mirror and a mirror operating mechanism. The mechanism includes a motor and is arranged to retract and return the mirror relative to an optical path by utilizing a normal and a reverse rotation of the motor, respectively. In the disclosed embodiments, the camera further comprises a mechanism to maintain the mirror in the retracted condition and a shutter in the opened condition to operate in a motion video mode where an image pickup element is continuously exposed to an image light. The mechanism for setting in the motion video mode may be operable manually from the exterior of the camera or by connecting an external device to the camera.
Abstract:
A flash device for a camera of the kind using a miniature lamp type flash tube solves all the problems resulting from the use of the straight tube type flash tube. The disclosed arrangement of the flash device not only ensures an adequate light distributing characteristic in all the vertical and lateral directions but also permits reduction in size of an electronic flash unit.
