Abstract:
The invention contemplates a combination of laser source and Raman cell construction whereby a wide uninterrupted spectrum of radiation is obtainable, providing Stokes-Raman emission which extends from the laser-radiation wavelength and far into the infrared region. This is achieved by devising a laser-radiation spectral capability which spans a wavelength range corresponding to the Raman displacement for the particular cell.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a bis-(bromomethyl)-tetrachlorobenzene which comprises contacting a bis-(chloromethyl)-tetrachlorobenzene with a bromide of an element of the first to the third group of the Periodic Table, preferably in a solvent of the bis-(chloromethyl)-tetrachlorobenzene which solvent is a non-solvent for the bis-(bromomethyl)-tetrachlorobenzene being prepared; a stabilized polymeric composition comprising a polymer and a bis-(bromomethyl)-tetrachlorobenzene, preferably containing additionally a compound of antimony or boron.
Abstract:
A vehicle is provided having an active bonnet and a pyrotechnic actuator configured to lift the active bonnet a plurality of times without having to perform maintenance on the pyrotechnic actuator. The pyrotechnic actuator includes a cylinder having an inlet opening, a first chamber and a second chamber that are separated by a central region; a piston that is configured to be displaced through the central region of the cylinder between a first position in the first chamber and a second position in the second chamber; and a carrier having first and second gas generators each being coupled to the inlet opening. The first gas generator is configured to be ignited to lift the active bonnet a first time, and the second gas generator is configured to be ignited independently of the first gas generator to lift the active bonnet a second time.
Abstract:
A pneumatic actuator is provided for an active bonnet. The pneumatic actuator includes, but is not limited to a cylinder and a piston transferable from a rest position to an extended position and lockable in its rest position. The piston, in its rest position, is held pre-stressed by a spring element in the direction of the extended state.
Abstract:
A body for a motor vehicle comprises a frame, a bonnet connected on a first side to the frame by a hinge and on a second side by a bonnet lock, and at least one actuating element which can be extended in the event of an accident in order to raise the bonnet. The actuating element comprises a movable part acting on the first side of the bonnet. A catch of the bonnet lock is coupled to the movable part in order to release the bonnet lock (when said actuating element is extended.

Abstract:
A sensor is applied to the wall of a container or is integrated into the wall. An alternating voltage is applied to the sensor in order to measure the level of the contents of the container, the capacitance or the electrical field produced being a measure for the fill level.
Abstract:
In a tomography-capable imaging examination apparatus, and an operating method therefor, an operator first determines a desired scan volume of the examination subject, and then, controlled by the computer device, a raw data set, having data allocated to different directions, is acquired in the scan volume. For planning the subsequent calculation of the resulting image—keeping pace with the scan or immediately after its termination—the computer device calculates and displays a graphic overview representation of the subject of examination from the raw data. The overview representation contains three-dimensional information about the scan volume. In this volume, the operator selects a diagnostically relevant region of representation. Using an image calculation algorithm, the computer device calculates a diagnostically relevant resulting image in the selected region of representation. The quantity of data thus is reduced immediately upon its origination. The evaluation of the data can be accelerated, and a prospective quality control can be carried out.
Abstract:
Connector (1) for fitting onto a counter connector (2), has a core portion (4) with a contact (3) for inserting into a sleeve (7) of the counter connector (2). The sleeve is provided with a latching step (5), and has a counter contact (6). The core portion is surrounded at a radial spacing by a collar (8), which has a latching first bead (9) for engaging over the latching step. The collar is surrounded in turn by a locking coupling (10), which in a release position allows slight radial displacement of the latching bead and in a locking position blocks the radial displacement. There is an axial continuation (11) of the collar which can escape axially in the release position and is blocked from escaping in the locking position. The continuation has a radially inner latching second bead (12).
Abstract:
The invention concerns an instrument panel for a vehicle having a form stable plastic carrier, a cover layer, optionally a layer including a foam material, and at least one flap-like tear-open part for the airbag of an airbag module. The flap-like tear-open part is defined by separation lines and a hinge area. The flap-like tear open part is provided with a reinforcement having at least one flexible layer. The layer is provided with through holes, which are perfused with the material of the carrier in such a manner, that the inner most carrier layer covers over the flexible layer in the manner of narrow or shallow elevations.
