    摘要: An ink for ink-jet recording of the present invention includes a dispersion of a pigment, and an ink solvent containing a water-soluble organic solvent and glycol ether. The ink is prepared such that an Rf value, which represents a rate of flow of the pigment obtained when the pigment dispersion is developed with the ink solvent by means of paper chromatography, is not more than 0.5. The ink has a fast permeation speed, and hence the feathering and the bleeding are avoided.

    摘要: A printer comprises a first head which has first nozzles, a second head which has second nozzles each having a nozzle diameter larger than that of the first nozzle, and an ink cartridge which stores an ink to be supplied to the first and second heads. The first head is directly connected to the ink cartridge by means of a tube. The second head is connected to the first head by means of a tube, and thus the second head is connected to the ink cartridge via the first head. Accordingly, it is possible to shorten the tubes by connecting the ink cartridge and the two heads in series. Further, it is possible to decrease the frequency of the recovery operation by arranging, on the downstream side in the liquid supply direction, the head in which the jetting failure is hardly caused.

    摘要: The ink-jet recording apparatus has an ink passage into which a water based ink or a preservation solution is filled. The ink passage employs a rubber member formed from a rubber which is formed of a butyl rubber polymer, a rubber polymer vulcanizable with an organic peroxide, and an organic peroxide. The water-based ink has a dynamic surface tension at a lifetime of 100 ms of about 35 mN/m to about 45 mN/m as measured by means of a maximum bubble pressure method at a measurement temperature of 25° C. The preservation solution has a dynamic surface tension at a lifetime of 100 ms of about 30 mN/m to about 35 mN/m as measured by means of the maximum bubble pressure method at a measurement temperature of 25° C.
