    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A method may include receiving a control transmission from a base station, identifying a control channel search space organized according to a nested structure, the control channel search space including a plurality of control channel candidates associated with one or more control channel elements (CCEs) and an aggregation level, and searching the received control transmission to identify a control channel for the UE using the plurality of control channel candidates. Another method may include determining whether to reorder resource element group (REG) indices for a received control channel transmission based, at least in part, on a transmission mode associated with the control channel transmission. Another method may include decoding a received control channel transmission, where the downlink control information (DCI) formats may be constrained to an integer multiple of a predetermined base number of bits N.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) configuration associated with a first radio access technology (RAT), the PDCCH configuration for a first set of time-frequency resources including one or more control channel elements (CCEs). The UE receives a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) configuration associated with a second RAT, the CRS configuration for a second set of time-frequency resources that overlaps with at least one CCE. The UE receives a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) within a third set of time-frequency resources of a PDCCH in accordance with a DMRS configuration that is identified for the third set of time-frequency resources based on the PDCCH configuration and the CRS configuration, the third set of time-frequency resources included within the one or more CCEs of the first set of time-frequency resources exclusive of the second set of time-frequency resources.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) configuration information indicating a set of PDCCH candidates for decoding in a PDCCH monitoring occasion and indicating a set of groupings of PDCCH candidates of the set of PDCCH candidates, wherein the set of groupings is associated with a set of prioritizations. The UE may receive, in a first bandwidth and in the PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the set of PDCCH candidates, downlink control information (DCI) scheduling resources on a second bandwidth, wherein the DCI is decoded from the set of PDCCH candidates in accordance with the set of prioritizations.
