Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may implement one or more listen before talk (LBT) techniques. The wireless device may identify a set of transmission parameters of a signal for transmission from the wireless device. The wireless device may generate a first transmission waveform of the signal on a set of radio resources based on the set of transmission parameters. The wireless device may perform a LBT based at least in part on the generation of the first transmission waveform. In some cases, performing the LBT includes adjusting a detected signal associated with the set of radio resources based at least in part on the first transmission waveform. The wireless device may transmit the signal based on a result of the LBT.

Abstract: Satellites in a non-terrestrial network may provide positioning reference signals (PRS) to user equipment (UE), with which the UE may determine its position using propagation delay difference measurements, such as Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) measurement. Due to the large distances between satellites and the UE, the propagation delay differences in the PRS received from satellites may exceed half a radio frame, resulting in a frame level timing ambiguity in the differential measurements. The satellites transmit secondary PRS, along with primary PRS, that include timing information to resolve frame level timing ambiguity of the primary PRS. The positioning occasions in the secondary PRS, for example, may be aligned with corresponding positioning occasions primary PRS within each radio frame, and are transmitted with a periodicity that is an integer multiple (greater than 1) of that of the primary PRS to resolve the frame level timing ambiguity of the primary PRS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for cooperative radar sensing in wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may measure one or more radar measurement parameters associated with a radar target, the radar measurement parameters including a set of values and a first time stamp corresponding to the measurement. The UE may receive a report, from a second UE, including a second set of values for the one or more radar measurement parameters associated with the radar target, an identifier associated with the second UE, and a second time stamp corresponding to the second set of values. The UE may generate a combined set of values based on the measured set of values, the second set of values, and the first and second time stamps. The UE may transmit a report to one or more other UEs including the combined set of values.

Abstract: False alarms in RADAR processing are reduced. One or more transforms may be performed to generate an array of spectrum values for a first domain spanning at least one of a range axis, a direction of arrival (DoA) axis, or a velocity axis. One or more spectrum values may be obtained from the array of spectrum values, wherein for each of the one or more spectrum values, (1) the spectrum value is associated with a range estimate, and (2) the spectrum value exceeds a range-dependent maximum threshold established based on a quartic function of the range estimate. The one or more spectrum values identified as exceeding the range-dependent maximum threshold may be excluded, or one or more reduced-magnitude values obtained, to generate an array of modified spectrum values for the first domain, used to generate a range estimate, a DoA estimate, or a velocity estimate, or any combination thereof.

A user equipment (UE), such as a vehicle UE may determine, based on one or more communication parameters of the UE, a radar field of view (FOV) for radar communications at the UE relative to a fixed frame of reference for the wireless communications system. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may account for propagation delay when initiating a random access (RACH) procedure. For example, the UE may determine transmission timing for a RACH preamble based on an estimated propagation delay, such that the RACH preamble is received at a base station approximately at the beginning of a slot. To support reliable communication of the RACH preamble, the UE may implement a timing offset. In some examples, the base station may configure the UE with the timing offset using system information. Alternatively, the UE may be pre-configured with the timing offset. By determining the transmission timing for the RACH preamble further based on the timing offset, the UE may ensure that the RACH preamble is received at the base station after a slot boundary (e.g., avoiding causing interference to communications in a previous slot).
