Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may report basis subset selection for a set of beams, where the basis vectors are used for frequency domain compression. To reduce reporting overhead, the UE may transmit two reports indicating the basis vectors. The first report may include first information for the basis vectors and is of a known payload size to both the UE and a base station, while the second report may include second information for the basis vectors and may have a payload size dependent on the first information. The base station may decode the first report and may use the decoded first information to decode the second report. Based on the first and second information, the base station may determine the reported set of basis vectors to use for frequency domain compression and may determine non-zero precoding coefficients.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for configuring contention-free uplink resources and contention-based uplink resources as preconfigured uplink resources (PUR) available for a user equipment (UE) to transmit one or more uplink transmissions without a specific allocation for the uplink transmission from a base station. Each of two or more UEs may be configured with separate portions of contention-free PUR that each UE may use to transmit a relatively small first uplink communication that provides an indication that the UE will transmit a relatively larger second uplink communication using contention-based PUR. The UE may transmit a buffer status report (BSR) using the contention-free PUR. The first communication may provide an indication of one or more physical layer parameters associated with the second uplink communication. The UE may transmit the second uplink communication using the indicated one or more physical layer parameters via the contention-based uplink resource.

Abstract: A method in accordance with aspects of the disclosure comprises receiving a plurality of downlink control information (DCI) signals, wherein each DCI signal is associated with a Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) Port Group (DMRS-PG) of a plurality of DMRS-PGs, and each DCI signal within the plurality of DCI signals contains a DMRS-PG Identifier (DMRS-PGID) identifying the associated DMRS-PG, performing one or more measurements associated with the each DCI signal, and generating a multi-port-group uplink control information (UCI) signal based on the one or more measurements associated with the each DCI, wherein the multi-port-group UCI signal contains an indication of whether the each DCI is successfully received. The indication can be explicitly contained in the UCI, or implicitly realized using scrambling sequences associated with DMRS-PGs to scramble the UCI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support emergency messaging using a mobile relay. For example, a first user equipment (UE), may transmit a first emergency message indicating a request for relaying a second emergency message to one or more network entities, the first UE being out-of-coverage of a network entity. The first UE may receive, from a second UE associated with an aircraft, a feedback message in response to the first emergency message and may transmit, to the second UE, a second emergency message based on receiving the feedback message. The second UE may receive the second emergency message and transmit, over an air-to-ground wireless communications network, an indication based on the first emergency message and the second emergency message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) receiving, from a base station, one or more random access channel (RACH) configurations. The RACH configurations may allocate resources for a contention-based RACH procedure for accessing a wireless network. Based on the RACH configurations, the UE may determine a set of random access occasions for an association period. From the set of random access occasions, the UE may map one or more indices of a plurality of synchronization signal blocks to one or more random access occasions. Using the one or more random access occasions, the UE may transmit a random access sequence, including one or more repetitions of the random access sequence to the base station to access the wireless network.

The method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving, from a network node, a message that indicates for the UE to generate a periodic channel state information (CSI) report including refinement information with respect to a previously CSI report. The UE may receive one or more demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) during one or more semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) occasions and generate the CSI report, where the refinement information included in the CSI report is based on measurements of the received one or more DMRSs. The UE may then transmit the CSI report to the network node.
