In some aspects, a user equipment may identify a scheduling window associated with acquiring a system information message, wherein the scheduling window is based at least in part on control channel monitoring occasions associated with a control channel, wherein the control channel is to schedule a data channel that includes the system information message; and receive the control channel based at least in part on the scheduling window, wherein the control channel is received within the scheduling window. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain access to a base station by performing an initial access procedure within an initial access bandwidth that contains control channel resources. The UE may receive a configuration of a downlink bandwidth part (BWP) following the initial access procedure, and may determine that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth. In some cases, the UE may make the determination based on an indication sent from the base station. For instance, the indication may be provided as part of one or more control channel configurations transmitted to the UE. Based on determining that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth, the UE may monitor for control information in the downlink BWP using control channel resources in the downlink BWP that correspond to control channel resources used in the initial access bandwidth.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a request message to a base station while operating in an idle mode. The base station may generate, in response to the request message, a response message including a random access preamble index corresponding to the received request message. In some cases, the base station may determine a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) based on the random access preamble index and scramble a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) of the response message with the RNTI. In some examples, the random access preamble index may be included in a payload of the response message. The UE may monitor a physical downlink control channel for the response message to the request message and receive the response message on the physical downlink control channel.

Indicating the sets of capabilities may require less signaling overhead than explicitly signaling all possible combinations of capabililites.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may autonomously initiate a handover procedure and select a target base station for the handover procedure. The UE may measure a signal from the source base station or the target base station, or both, and the UE may determine whether specific criteria at both base stations are within a pre-configured range. If the criteria at both base stations are within the pre-configured range, the UE may identify the target base station as a potential candidate for a handover. Accordingly, when the UE determines that radio conditions with the source base station are deteriorating (or fall below a threshold), the UE may initiate a handover to the target base station autonomously and without specific direction from the source base station.

A user equipment may include aspects for transmitting the chirp signal and receiving the encoded message.
