Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, including a movable relay location variance report. The movable relay location variance report may enable more robust and accurate communications between a control node (e.g., a user equipment (UE) and a base station) and a movable relay (e.g., a drone) equipped with a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). In some aspects, the location variance report may characterize the variance of the drone's location and transmit the information to the UE, the base station, or both. The location variance report may influence the control node beam width, the drone location, and an angle at which the drone may position a RIS. The control node may indicate an adjusted set of parameters to the drone based on receiving the location variance report.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam management techniques in a wireless communication system. A UE establishes a communication link with a base station and receives a set of transmit beams transmitted via a plurality of symbols in a sequential manner, wherein a respective transmit beam is transmitted in a respective symbol of the plurality of symbols. The UE measures, for each transmit beam in the set of transmit beams, a set of signal strengths corresponding to the respective transmit beam using a plurality of receive beams in the respective symbol, wherein a respective signal strength is measured based on a respective receive beam. The UE then sends a feedback message to the base station including at least an identification of a transmit beam having a highest measured signal strength among all sets of signal strengths measured for the set of transmit beams and the highest measured signal strength.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a control node may receive, from a movable relay node, a capability message indicating a set of operational parameters for the movable relay node. The control node may determine a location for the movable relay node based on the capability message and may transmit, to the movable relay node, a location message indicating the determined location. The movable relay node may change locations or reconfigure one or more relay devices (e.g., reconfigurable intelligent surfaces) of the movable relay node based on the location message. Accordingly, the control node may use the movable relay node to relay messages between the control node and a second node, which may increase the likelihood of successful communications between the control node and the second node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a preamble configuration. The UE may receive a preamble in a time domain. The preamble may include a set of modulated bits during a first portion of an initial symbol duration of a slot. The set of modulated bits may include one or more of a first subset of network temporary identifier bits or a second subset of modulation and coding scheme (MCS) bits. The UE may process the preamble during a second portion of the initial symbol duration of the slot based on the preamble configuration.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A demodulation reference signal generated using user information and a noncoherent modulation technique may be communicated between wireless devices. A data sequence may be extracted from the demodulation reference signal based on demodulating the demodulation reference signal using the noncoherent modulation technique and decoding the demodulation reference signal. The data sequence may be used to reconstruct a version of the demodulation reference signal used to descramble a received version of the demodulation reference signal. The descrambled demodulation reference signal may be used to estimate a data channel between a transmitting device and a receiving device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a network coding configuration for a set of transmit beams, each transmit beam in the set of transmit beams being spatial division multiplexed with respect to the other transmit beams of the set. The UE may identify based at least in part on the control signaling, a first set of one or more transmit beams of the set of transmit beams carrying parity information for a second set of one or more transmit beams in the set of transmit beams. The UE may perform beamformed communications over the set of transmit beams in accordance with the network coding configuration and the parity information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device may receive a signal over a first frequency from a transmitting device. The receiving device may determine a set of angular offsets associated with communicating signals over a set of frequencies based on the angle of arrival of the signal, where each frequency of the set of frequency may be offset from the first frequency by a different amount. The receiving device may indicate the set of angular offsets to the transmitting device. The transmitting device may adapt a reception configuration for receiving signals from the receiving device, transmitting signal to the receiving device, or both based on the indication of the set of angular offsets.

A communication device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling (e.g., a downlink control information (DCI), a radio resource control (RRC) message, a medium access control-control element (MAC-CE)) including an indication of a set of constellation points for a set of constellation distortion points. The set of constellation distortion points may be of a constellation distribution associated with a modulation scheme (e.g., a quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), an amplitude and phase-shift keying (APSK)). The UE may perform a digital post distortion operation based on the set of constellation points for the set of constellation distortion points of the constellation distribution, and decode the wireless communication based on performing of the digital post distortion operation.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for radio frequency (RF) beamforming using a plurality of differently skewed cylindrical lenses. In one example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a plurality of cylindrical lenses, each respective cylindrical lens of the plurality of cylindrical lenses having a respective first surface and a respective second surface opposite to the respective first surface. Each respective cylindrical lens can include a power direction corresponding to a curvature of each respective first surface and a non-power direction that is orthogonal to the power direction. The apparatus can further include at least one linear antenna array disposed proximate to each respective second surface of each respective cylindrical lens, the at least one linear antenna array including a plurality of antenna array elements.
