Abstract: A method and apparatus for downlink and uplink control management of component carriers during carrier aggregation in a new radio wireless communication system is disclosed. For example, the method and apparatus include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), a slot format indicator in at least one slot of at least one component carrier of a plurality of component carriers from a network entity, where the at least one component carrier includes a group common Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), the slot format indicator within the group common PDCCH indicating at least slot structure information for one or more other component carriers from the plurality of component carriers; and communicating, with the network entity, using the at least slot structure information for the one more other component carriers.

A method may include receiving a control transmission from a base station, identifying a control channel search space organized according to a nested structure, the control channel search space including a plurality of control channel candidates associated with one or more control channel elements (CCEs) and an aggregation level, and searching the received control transmission to identify a control channel for the UE using the plurality of control channel candidates. Another method may include determining whether to reorder resource element group (REG) indices for a received control channel transmission based, at least in part, on a transmission mode associated with the control channel transmission. Another method may include decoding a received control channel transmission, where the downlink control information (DCI) formats may be constrained to an integer multiple of a predetermined base number of bits N.

A user equipment (UE), served by a cell of a base station, may identify a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for a first cell, wherein the TDD configuration includes a symbol pattern for a slot. The base station may determine an overlap between a downlink symbol or a flexible symbol and an uplink symbol during symbols of the slot based on a TDD configuration. A first UE may receive a configuration for transmitting a cross-link interference (CLI) sounding reference signal (SRS) to a second UE according to the configuration. The second UE may measure the CLI SRS and report the measurement.
