Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer readable mediums for authenticating a device perform a method of receiving, at a second device, a first authentication protocol reauthentication response for the device, the authentication response including a reauthentication master session key (rMSK), transmitting, at the second device, a second first authentication protocol reauthentication response to a first access point based on the reauthentication master session key, generating, at the second device, a first pairwise master key (PMK) based on the reauthentication master session key, generating, at the second device, a key message to include the first pairwise master key, and transmitting, at the second device, the key message to the second access point.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communication may include receiving a communication and determining an acknowledgement signature for an acknowledgment in response to the communication. The acknowledgment signature may allow for authentication with the transmitting wireless device. The acknowledgment signature may be based on a key shared with the wireless device. An acknowledgement frame (e.g., acknowledging reception of the communication) may then be sent to the transmitting wireless device. The content of the acknowledgement may be based on the acknowledgement signature. For example, the signature may be included in a frame control, duration, or address field. Determining the acknowledgement signature may include determining a unique signature based on information from the received communication (e.g., a cyclic redundancy check (CRC)), the shared key, and/or a hash function. In some cases, the acknowledgement frame may include an encryption header, and a message integrity check may be included as the acknowledgement signature.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for communication in a wireless network are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes generating a medium access control (MAC) address for a first group of wireless devices, storing the MAC address for the first group of wireless devices in an address field of a first message, and transmitting, by a first wireless device of the first group of wireless devices, the first message to a second wireless device of the first group of wireless devices. In some aspects, the wireless network comprises a neighbor aware network (NAN). In some aspects, a wireless device may be able to determine a method of encryption or decryption for the first message based at least in part on the MAC address for the first group of wireless devices.
Abstract:
A method includes generating a first traffic announcement message at a first electronic device of a data link. The first traffic announcement message indicates first data is to be transmitted from the first electronic device to a second electronic device of the data link. The method also includes transmitting the first traffic announcement message to one or more electronic devices of the data link during a first paging window.
Abstract:
A device for wireless communication includes key logic configured to obtain a candidate group key corresponding to a data link group. The device also includes a wireless interface configured to transmit an announcement message to one or more devices of the data link group during a discovery window of a first communication channel. The announcement message includes a multicast message and indicates availability of the candidate group key.
Abstract:
A device for wireless communication includes key logic configured to obtain a candidate group key corresponding to a data link group. The device also includes a wireless interface configured to transmit an announcement message to one or more devices of the data link group during a paging window designated for the data link group. The announcement message includes a multicast message and indicates availability of the candidate group key, and the announcement message.
Abstract:
A method includes monitoring, at a first electronic device of a data link, a first wireless network during a first paging window corresponding to an active operating mode of electronic devices of the data link. The method also includes receiving, at the first electronic device, a traffic announcement message from a second electronic device of the data link during the first paging window.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communications in stations of a Neighbor Awareness network (NAN) cluster are disclosed that may utilize a default data path of a wireless network. A first station may receive a message from a second station, the message may identify whether the second station wants to utilize a default data path or a customized data path for subsequent data transmission. The first station may determine to utilize the default data path for data transmissions based at least in part on requirements of the first station and an identifier included in the message.
Abstract:
A particular method includes generating a first message including data for indicating availability of a service of a data path group network and including at least one of a lifetime value or a heartbeat value corresponding to the data path group network. The method also includes transmitting the first message from a first device of the data path group network.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are described to enable fair message transmission and to reduce maximum power consumption of stations in a wireless network. For example, a first station of the wireless network may transmit a message including a first neighbor list to a second station of the wireless network. The first neighbor list may identify one or more stations within a particular range of the first station. The second station may selectively transmit, based on a comparison between the first neighbor list and a second neighbor list and a random countdown, a copy of the message including the second neighbor list to another station of the wireless network. The second neighbor list may identify one or more stations within a particular range of the second station.
