Abstract: A two-surface narrow field-of-view (FOV) compound lens for producing an image of an object at an image plane of an imaging system includes a biplanar substrate between a plano-convex lens and a plano-concave lens having a common optical axis. The plano-convex lens has a first planar surface on a first side of the biplanar substrate and is formed of a material having a first Abbe number. The plano-concave lens has a second planar surface on a second side of the biplanar substrate opposite the first side, and is formed of a material having a second Abbe number less than the first Abbe number. Abstract: A five-surface wide field-of view compound lens incudes a first lens, a second lens, a third lens, a fourth lens, a fifth lens, a first biplanar substrate, and a second biplanar substrate. The first lens is plano-concave; the second, the third lens, and the fourth lens are plano-convex; the fifth lens is a plano-gull-wing lens. The first biplanar substrate is between the second lens and the third lens. The second biplanar substrate is between the fourth lens and the fifth lens. The first lens has a first Abbe number. The second lens has a second Abbe number less than the first Abbe number. Abstract: An apparatus includes an image sensor that is bonded to a spacer. The spacer has a thinned wall that defines a step and a recess in an interior wall at a first end of the spacer. The image sensor is bonded to the step within the recess of the spacer such that the image sensor is accepted completely within the recess of the spacer. A glass wafer is mounted on a second end of the spacer. A lens is mounted on the glass wafer such that light is to be directed through the lens to the image sensor.

Abstract: A four-piece all-aspheric adapter fisheye lens includes a negative meniscus lens, a biconcave lens, a positive meniscus lens, and a biconvex lens. The biconcave lens is between the negative meniscus lens and the positive meniscus lens; the positive meniscus lens is between the biconcave lens and the biconvex lens. The negative meniscus lens, the biconcave lens, the positive meniscus lens, and the biconvex lens are coaxial and arranged with an exit pupil to cooperatively generate an image with a camera lens that has greater field of view than the camera lens alone when the exit pupil is coplanar and coaxial with an entrance pupil of the camera lens. Each of the negative meniscus lens, the biconcave lens, the positive meniscus lens, and the biconvex lens has an aspheric object-side surface and an aspheric image-side surface.
