Abstract: Embodiments described herein include DRX operations that address impacts of beamforming to current DRX operations. It is recognized herein that the new NR-PDCCH may affect the downlink control channel monitoring in DRX operations. DRX embodiments described herein also address the impact of new NR-PDCCH to DRX operations. It is further recognized herein that, in NR, multiple DRX configurations may be supported, and L1/2 signaling (such as MAC CE based) can be used for dynamic DRX configuration switching. Embodiments described herein include signaling and other mechanisms that support multiple DRX configurations, and switching between multiple configurations. Embodiments described herein also include DRX operations that address the impact of HARQ design in NR to DRX operations. Embodiments described herein further include DRX operations that address the impact of multiple SR configurations in NR to DRX operation.

Abstract: Radio resource management measurements for new radio unlicensed are performed that are based on a measurement model where a missed received signal transmission opportunity indicator is provided to higher layers to adapt the measurement functions performed by the radio resource control when a missed received signal transmission opportunity is detected. Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed pertaining to paging for Unlicensed New Radio (NR-U). Methods include means to: perform paging using multiple paging occasions (POs) during a DRX Cycle, perform paging using a paging window, perform paging using a PO comprised of multiple sweeps and/or repetitions, signal DL channel access indication for paging, and perform paging using dynamic DRX. In accordance with one embodiment, an apparatus may receive a signal comprising a plurality of POs, wherein each PO comprises a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The apparatus may monitor, based on receiving an identifier associated with the apparatus, a portion of the plurality of paging occasions. The apparatus may detect, in a PDCCH monitoring occasion of the plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasions in the monitored portion, paging downlink control information (DCI).

Abstract: The present application at least describes a method for obtaining channel access in a network. The method includes a step of selecting, via a gNodeB, a spatial filter from a first set of spatial filters to perform listen before talk (LBT). The method includes a step of detecting, via the gNodeB, a channel in an idle state. The method also includes a step of obtaining, a directional channel occupancy time (COT) in the channel in a direction of the selected spatial filter. The method also includes a step of transmitting, to a node, a channel access indicator transmission (CAI-T) on a beam in the cot via a spatial filter of a second set of spatial filters. The method further includes a step of receiving, from the node, a channel access indicator response (CAI-R). The method further includes a step of sensing, via short channel sensing and via the spatial filter or another spatial filter of the second set of spatial filters, the channel is clear. The method even further includes a step of sending, via the channel, information to the node using one or more spatial filters of the second set of spatial filters. Other embodiments of this aspect include corresponding computer systems, apparatus, and computer programs recorded on one or more computer storage devices, each configured to perform the actions of the methods.

Abstract: The present application is at least directed to an apparatus on a network including a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon for re-establishing a remote radio control (RRC) connection with a base station. Abstract: Current approaches to transmitting uplink data in a network often require resources to be granted. In an example, a node or apparatus may configure a plurality of devices to operate in a grant-less mode in accordance with a respective grant-less access allocation, such that, when the plurality of devices transmit messages uplink in the network, the messages are transmitted using frequency resources defined by the respective grant-less access allocation, and the plurality of devices transmit the messages without being granted access to transmit the messages, so as to operate in the grant-less mode.

Abstract: In NR, a slot structure of a UE may be dynamic due the number of symbols of PDCCH and whether the slot has UL data, among other considerations. Additionally, to support multi-TRP/multi-panel/multi-BWP operation, a UE may be configured with multiple TRSs, and when a UE needs to receive multiple TRSs in the same slot, efficient signaling of the TRSs is important because of the high overhead involved. During a transmission, a UE may need to do beam switching when there is a beam failure, but existing systems do not have mechanisms for the UE to synchronize time and frequency with a new beam. Further, when a UE switches to a new beam, the effect on scheduled TRS transmission for old beams is unclear. Fine frequency and time tracking may also be required during an initial access procedure. Existing NR systems do not address how a UE may perform time and frequency tracking during an initial access procedure. Additionally, URLLC data may need to be transmitted to a UE immediately in an NR system. Existing NR systems do not address sending a TRS to a UE with URLLC data. Embodiments described herein address these and other issues.
