Abstract: The present invention provides a communication method, user equipment, an access network device, and an application server. The method is: allocating, by the access network device, an IP address to the UE; and after the UE notifies the IP address to the application server, performing, by the application server, a data transmission service for the UE by using the IP address. By using the technical solutions of the present invention, a PDN-GW, an SGW, a PCRF entity, an MME, and an HSS in an existing wireless communications network are deleted, and functions of the foregoing network side devices are implemented by using the access network device and the application server. Therefore, it is avoided that an SGW-to-PDN-GW link becomes a bottleneck of a processing capability of the wireless communications network, network layers are greatly reduced, a data transmission delay is effectively reduced, and a network paralysis risk is reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for determining a measurement gap length and a network device. The method includes the following steps: determining, by a first network device, whether a master eNodeB is synchronous with a secondary eNodeB; and when the master eNodeB is synchronous with the secondary eNodeB, determining, by the first network device, that the measurement gap length is a first length; or when the master eNodeB is not synchronous with the secondary eNodeB, determining, by the first network device, that the measurement gap length is a second length; where the first length is less than the second length.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a migration method and an apparatus, which relate to the field of communications technologies and are invented for implementation of proper configuration of different network resources. The method includes: sending, by a base station of a first network, information to a user equipment, where the information is used for: migrating, by the user equipment, from a second network to the first network, where the user equipment is in an idle state relative to the first network; or determining, by the user equipment, whether to migrate from the first network to the second network, where the first network is a 3GPP network, and the second network is a non-3GPP network. The present invention is mainly applied to a process of network migration of the user equipment.
