Abstract: A system and method is provided for generating a map of a tissue property in a subject using magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) and a compressed MRF dictionary, where the compressed MRF dictionary has a significantly reduced memory requirement relative to a standard MRF dictionary. The method includes performing a randomized singular value decomposition (rSVD) on a MRF dictionary to produce the compressed MRF dictionary. MRF data is then acquired and compared to the MRF dictionary to identify the tissue property from the region of interest in the subject. A tissue property map is then generated based on the tissue in the region of interest of the subject.

Abstract: A system and method is provided using a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) system. The method includes applying an off-resonance radio frequency (RF) pulse using a radio-frequency coil that is spatially inhomogeneous to induce a B1-dependent resonant frequency shift in spins in a subject and, in the presence of the off-resonance RF pulse, applying a frequency-modulated, frequency-selective RF excitation pulse to spatially encode the spins in the subject. The method also includes acquiring NMR data from the subject that is spatially encoded and reconstructing the NMR data to produce a report of internal materials forming the subject.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides transmit/receive (T/R) systems for NMR or MRI systems. In one configuration, the systems and methods provided herein may use passively-shielded coils that are compatible with low-field operational environment to replace conventional T/R systems and spatial gradient systems. In some configurations, a low-field imaging T/R system is provided that is designed for nuclear magnetic stimulation and local flux sensitivity, while automatically rejecting incident radiant electromagnetic noise. The design advantageously leverages low required frequencies to distribute the pulse synthesis task, yielding a smaller system with easier maintenance and lower cost. The system may include distributed coil nodes that include a primary radiofrequency (RF) coil configured to transmit and receive RF signals and a secondary coil configured to passively shield the primary RF coil.

Abstract: A method for determining an undersampling error for a magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) pulse sequence includes retrieving a plurality of sets of spatial response functions. Each set of spatial response functions is associated with a tissue type in a reference image and is based on a tissue mask of the reference image for each tissue type. A signal evolution for each tissue type may be generated based on, for example, the MRF pulse sequence, An undersampled image may be generated for each tissue type using the set of spatial response functions and the signal evolutions for the tissue type. At least one quantitative parameter may be determined by comparing an undersampled image series created from the undersampled images to an MRF dictionary. An undersampling error for the MRF pulse sequence may be generated by comparing a quantitative map (or maps) for the quantitative parameter (or parameters) and the reference image.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and media for rendering voxel-based 3D content are provided. In some embodiments, a system for rendering voxel-based content comprises: a display; and hardware processor programmed to: receive voxel-based data representing an object at multiple different resolutions; perform, for a representation including low-resolution voxels, a first forward-projection ray marching operation with a step size based on the voxel volume; identify a voxel that causes a threshold to be exceeded; perform, for a second representation including higher-resolution voxels each smaller in volume than the first voxels, a second forward-projection ray marching operation; identify a second voxel in the second representation that causes the threshold to be exceeded; determine that the second representation is a highest resolution available; and cause a pixel to present a portion of the object based on a value associated with the second voxel.
