Abstract: A laminated metal consisting of any metallic or semi-metallic base material onto which alternate layers of monocrystalline nickel and monolayer graphene are deposited. The base material can be any metal, such as alloys of steel, copper, aluminum, nickel, palladium, cobalt, platinum, or silicon. The finished material will have one or more layers of nickel/graphene on its surface. In the case of wire, the layers are coaxial to the core material.

Abstract: An adjustable height, covered, foldable, configurable modifiable seat with a seat frame (comprising a bottom frame, a back frame, and an upper frame) and at least one frame opening defined by the contours of at least a portion of the seat frame. A bleacher hook is disposed on the seat frame. Lower hinges connect the bottom frame to the back frame and upper hinges connect the back frame to the upper frame. The lower and upper hinges can be locked to provide the frame with stability. A first support member is connected to the lower hinges and a second support member is connected to the upper hinges. A fabric is disposed over at least a portion of said seat frame and at least one frame opening. The modifiable seat is used by a user in a first, second, third, or fourth configuration.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system includes a data storage device having data stored therein and a native computer system having resident thereon a controlling operating system in communication with the data storage device. The system also includes a primary computer system having resident thereon a primary operating system in communication with the native computer system via a first connection, the primary computer system being in communication with the data storage device via a second connection that is not in communication with the native computer system, the primary computer system having a processor executing a primary application. A volume on the data storage device is under logical control of the controlling operating system of the native computer system, and the primary computer system reads or writes data to the volume directly via the second connection. Other systems, methods and computer program products are also described relating to accessing data.

Abstract: A fixed cone sleeve valve has a conically shaped valve body and a sleeve gate movable relative to the valve body to define open and closed positions of the valve. An extension member is provided at the downstream distal end of the sleeve gate. The extension member extends radially outward and axially downstream from the distal end of the sleeve gate. The extension member has outer and inner surfaces with openings extending between the outer and inner surfaces. The extension member is arranged on the sleeve gate in a manner to allow communication through the openings into the flow path when the sleeve gate is in the open position.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing scent in an environment include receiving data from sensors disposed in an environment regarding an indication that a service is being delivered in the environment and identifying remote atomizing scent diffusion devices disposed in the environment, wherein each scent diffusion device comprises a communications facility that enables transmitting signals to and receiving signals from the remote computer. Based on the indication, an electronic data structure is created defining a physical operational state of the scent diffusion devices, including data specifying at least one of a production of a scent that is intended to be a complement to the service, a fan speed of a fan in the diffusion device that moves particles carrying a scent, and a voltage of a pump of the diffusion device. The diffusion devices are caused to implement the at least one defined operational state.

Abstract: In at least one implementation, a torsion rod preload device, includes a body, a driver and a retainer. The body may have a base adapted to be connected to a vehicle and at least one stop. The driver is carried by the body for movement relative to the body, and is adapted to engage a torsion rod so that movement of the driver relative to the body increases a torsion force within the torsion rod. The retainer is carried by one or both of the body and the driver, and is movable by the driver as the driver moves relative to the body. The retainer is engageable with the stop to inhibit or prevent movement of the driver when the retainer is engaged with the stop to maintain a desired torsion force in the torsion rod.
