Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus incorporating a first trans-receiver coil, an internal lock coil, a decoupling coil, means for tuning said coils to desired frequencies, a first trans-receiving system for supplying the first trans-receiver coil with a first nuclear (such as .sup.1 H) resonance RF wave and detecting the first nuclear resonance F.I.D. signal, a second trans-receiving system for supplying the first trans-receiving coil with a second nuclear (such as .sup.13 C) resonance RF wave and detecting the second nuclear resonance F.I.D. (Free Inductance Decay) signal, a third trans-receiving system for supplying the internal lock coil with a third nuclear (such as .sup.2 D) resonance RF wave and detecting the third nuclear resonance signal, and a transmission system for supplying the first nuclear resonance RF wave to the decoupling coil, it being possible in said apparatus to observe different types of nucleus, viz; .sup.1 H and .sup.13 C without removing the internal lock by employing a third nucleus such as .sup.2 D so that the first and second nuclear spectrum can be observed at high resolution by first nuclear decoupling.

Abstract: A carbonaceous material used as a polarizable active material in an electric double layer capacitor is characterized in that, when measured by an electron spin resonance method without adding any additives, the obtained peak line width is 2 mT or less, and the peak intensity, which is converted into a number of unpaired electrons per 1 g, is 1×1019 or more. A method for producing the carbonaceous material includes removing residual functional groups from the carbonaceous material so that reactions between the residual functional groups and the electrolytic liquid are suppressed when forming a capacitor.

Abstract: A fixing device is provided for a headrest that fixes the headrest at a predetermined position in an unadjustable manner, even after a guide lock is attached or even after a seatback is formed. At least one groove portion is formed by cutting out in a headrest pillar, without inclination in the radial direction. The fixing device has a knob portion, a resin spring portion formed continuously to the knob portion, and an engagement plate arranged in the knob portion, the resin spring portion is formed to extend on one side of the knob portion therefrom, and is provided with a space portion for expanding to surround the headrest pillar. The engagement plate is installed in the knob portion, and is formed in such a manner that part of the engagement plate is exposed in the space portion.

Abstract: Provided is a scroll fluid machine that, by using a crankshaft manufactured by cold forging and a needle bearing, can sufficiently exhibit the performance of a variable circling radius mechanism, can provide a sufficient reliability on a bearing portion of the crankshaft, and can be manufactured inexpensively. For this purpose, in a crankshaft 60 used for a driving force transmission system, a reinforced shaft unit 63 and a circular column-like large diameter unit 61 are formed at an end of a rotating shaft 16, a material is produced by a cold forging process so that an eccentric shaft 62 projects from the circular column-like large diameter unit 61, the circular column-like large diameter unit 61 is rotatably coupled to a housing 11 via a needle bearing 64, and the variable circling radius mechanism is stably operated with rigidity increased by the reinforced shaft unit 63.
