Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a multi-mode capability for communications by the UE within a frequency band, such that that UE may be capable of operating in any one of a half duplex time division duplex (TDD) mode and a full duplex frequency division duplex (FDD) mode within the frequency band. The UE may then transmit an indication of the multi-mode capability to a base station. The UE may receive, from the base station and responsive to the transmission of the indication, a communication format configuration that includes a partitioning between TDD mode communications and FDD mode communications for the frequency band.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for management of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) log likelihood ratio (LLR) and reordering buffers in wireless communication systems. According to certain aspects, a method for reducing buffer overhead that may be performed by a wireless node is provided. The method generally includes receiving one or more packets of at least one of an initial transmission or a retransmission; forming one or more log likelihood ratios (LLRs) based on the one or more packets; compressing the one or more LLRs by quantizing the one or more LLRs; and buffering the one or more compressed LLRs.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for enabling at least one opportunity to transmit mission critical (MiCr) data and at least one opportunity to receive MiCr data in a time division duplex (TDD) subframe during a single transmission time interval (TTI). The single TTI may be no greater than 500 microseconds. The TDD subframe may be a downlink (DL)-centric TDD subframe or an uplink (UL)-centric TDD subframe. How much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to transmit the MiCr data and how much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to receive the MiCr data may be adjusted based on one or more characteristics of the MiCr data. The MiCr data may have a low latency requirement, a high priority requirement, and/or a high reliability requirement. Various other aspects are provided throughout the present disclosure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify one or more radio frequency (RF) spectrum bands for full-duplex communications, and may signal an indication of the UE's capability to support full-duplex communications for each RF spectrum band. The UE may further receive one or more configurations for full-duplex communications, which, in some examples, may be based on the UE's indicated capabilities. As an example, the UE may identify a guard band configuration for full-duplex communications, where the guard band configuration may be based on one or more aspects of resources used for the full-duplex communications. In other cases, the UE may identify a transmission hopping or antenna switching configuration for full-duplex communications. In any case, the UE may communicate with a base station in accordance with the one or more configurations and the UE's capabilities.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes measuring, by a first device, a condition of a wireless channel; and generating at least one channel side information feedback message based on the measured condition of the wireless channel. The at least one channel side information feedback message provides information on a relationship of a set of parameters, including a data rate parameter, an error probability parameter, and at least one of a deadline parameter or a transmission link parameter. A second method includes measuring, by a first device, interference on a wireless channel; identifying an interfering device for the wireless channel based on the measurement; and generating a channel side information feedback message based on the measured interference on the wireless channel. The channel side information feedback message indicates the interfering device for the wireless channel and a correlation of interference from the interfering device with time or frequency.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. According to one or more aspects, a device, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive, from one or more base stations during a first time unit, a control signal including an indication of a reference signal bundling configuration associated with one or more physical channel types which may be potentially scheduled during a set of time units after the first time unit. The UE may determine the set of time units based on the indication of the reference signal bundling configuration. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive scheduling configuration of one or more physical channels, and the one or more physical channels during one or more second time units of the set of time units. The UE may then bundle the one or more physical channels based on the reference signal bundling configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may generate an uplink random access message, including a random access preamble and an uplink shared channel resource unit, of a two-step random access procedure. The UE may identify configuration information for uplink control information (UCI) multiplexing. The UE may identify a trigger for inclusion of UCI with the uplink random access message. The UE may multiplex the UCI and a reference signal with the uplink shared channel resource unit and map the uplink control information to resource elements in the uplink shared channel resource unit based on a priority of the uplink control information and a location of resource elements to which the reference signal is mapped. The UE may transmit the uplink random access message comprising the uplink control information and an indication of the used UCI configuration to the base station.

A user equipment (UE) may support two different modes of operation (e.g., a normal transmission efficiency mode, a high transmission efficiency mode, etc.) either controlled by a network or the UE. The UE may transmit an indication of a capability of supporting the different modes of operation, where the network or the UE determine to use which mode of operation to use based on the transmitted capability. For example, the network may transmit an explicit indication of which mode of operation for the UE to use and/or may transmit an indication of the modes of operation, where the UE determines which mode of operation to use after receiving the indication. Additionally, the UE may determine which mode of operation to use based on being scheduled within or outside of a restricted bandwidth allocated to a mode of operation.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for efficient support of connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) by using a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) with a second receiver. A wireless device with two receivers may place one receiver in a low power mode and take the receiver out of the low power mode in response to a signal received from a serving base station (BS) of the wireless device. A BS may direct a wireless device to enter a low power DRX (LP-DRX) mode or enhanced DRX mode having longer low power cycles than a non-enhanced DRX mode, and the wireless device may place a primary receiver in a low power mode in response to the directive from the BS. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and disclosed.

A method for wireless communications by wireless node is provided. The method generally includes encoding a set of information bits based on a LDPC code to produce a code word, the LDPC code defined by a matrix having a first number of variable nodes and a second number of check nodes, puncturing the code word to produce a punctured code word, wherein the puncturing is performed according to a first puncturing pattern designed to puncture bits corresponding to one or more of the variable nodes having a certain degree of connectivity to the check nodes, and transmitting the punctured code word.
