    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer readable media for facilitating of measuring occasions for transmissions based on frequency division multiplexing and spatial division multiplexing are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving, from a base station, a hopping pattern indication configuring a hopping pattern. The example method also includes measuring interference of respective CSI-RS transmitted to other UEs included in a UE group based on at least the hopping pattern indication. The example method also includes reporting the measured interference to the base station. An example method for wireless communication at a base station includes transmitting a hopping pattern indication to each of a plurality of UEs. The example method also includes transmitting reference signals for the plurality of UEs using the hopping pattern among multiple subbands, and receiving a report of interference measured by each of the plurality of UEs based on the reference signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a first connection with a source base station. The UE may determine that a handover procedure is being performed for establishing a second connection with a target base station. The UE may monitor, during a monitoring period instantiated at a physical layer of a protocol stack of the UE, for a control signal acknowledging success of the handover procedure from a target base station. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on a result of the monitoring during the monitoring period, a physical layer signal or a medium access control layer signal to the source base station indicating that the handover procedure was unsuccessful based at least in part on a failure to successfully receive and decode the control signal.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein support dynamically indicating uplink control channel repetition multiple different types of uplink signaling. A user equipment (UE) may receive first control signaling indicating a first repetition factor for transmission of a feedback message associated with a beam or transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state. The UE may receive second control signaling scheduling transmission of a control message associated with the beam or TCI state. The UE may transmit, in accordance with a second repetition factor, the control message based at least in part on both the feedback message and the control message being associated with the beam. In some cases, the second repetition factor may be configured with the second control signaling.

A device in a wireless network may identify a resource for wireless communication, the resource being in a first state where the resource is active for wireless communication and is inactive for a communication failure recovery procedure. The device may determine that a communication failure has occurred during a first communication period. The device may transition, during a second communication period and based at least in part on the communication failure, the resource to a second state where the resource is inactive for wireless communication and is active for the communication failure recovery procedure. The device may perform the communication failure recovery procedure using the resource transitioned to the second state.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may select a random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO) based on one or more channel quality thresholds, such as reference signal received power (RSRP) thresholds. A base station may determine a set of RO types for receiving RACH transmissions. The base station may determine a channel quality threshold for each RO type. The base station may broadcast a configuration indicating the RO types and the associated channel quality thresholds. The UE may receive the configuration and measure a channel quality between the UE and the base station. Based on the measured channel quality, the UE may determine which RO types are available based on the indicated channel quality thresholds, and select an RO for transmitting a RACH preamble to establish a connection with the base station based on the available RO types.
