    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may report power headroom for uplink carrier aggregation communications. The UE may receive a first message that indicates multiple component carriers are configured for communications at the UE. The UE may determine a first transmission power available for uplink carrier aggregation transmissions by the UE across the multiple component carriers during a transmission occasion. The UE may transmit one or more uplink messages associated with a second transmission power via one or more of the component carriers. The UE may transmit a power headroom report that includes a carrier aggregation power headroom parameter. A value of the carrier aggregation power headroom parameter may be based on the first transmission power and the second transmission power associated with uplink carrier aggregation transmissions via at least one of the multiple component carriers during the transmission occasion.

    Abstract: Full-duplex communication techniques are described. Some aspects may utilize full-duplex-slot formats, such as may be provided in addition to or in the alternative to uplink, downlink, and flexible slot formats. A full-duplex slot implemented in accordance with a full-duplex-slot format provides a slot in which the frequency band may be used for both uplink and downlink transmissions. Downlink and/or uplink transmissions of a full-duplex slot may occur in overlapping frequency bands or in adjacent frequency bands. A first wireless device may transmit slot signaling comprising one or more full-duplex-slot-indicator parameters. A second wireless device may base one or more full-duplex slot configuration determinations on a full-duplex-slot configuration. The second wireless device may apply one or more full-duplex-slot-indicator-parameter rules with respect to full-duplex-slot-indicator parameters for determining a full-duplex-slot format. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods relate to selecting transmission parameters that optimize a dimension (e.g., time, frequency, and/or spatial) under a set of constraints. A UE may receive a resource allocation mode indication and a traffic parameter indication from a BS. The resource allocation mode indication informs the UE to optimize along a time dimension, a frequency dimension, and/or a spatial domain. The traffic parameter indication informs the UE what constraints to consider for the transmission parameters. The UE may use this information upon receipt of a reference signal in selecting transmission parameters based on the received reference signal, resource allocation mode indication, and traffic parameter indication. The resource allocation mode may correspond to optimization within a single slot or across multiple slots. Once selected, the UE may transmit the transmission parameters to the BS for use in sending the message to the UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a network entity may output, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a first control message identifying a first discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and a second, different DRX cycle for the UE to use, the first and second DRX cycles having a first and second active duration, respectively. The network entity may also output a second control message identifying periodic resources for the UE to use to monitor for a periodic signal, the periodic resources being outside at least the first active duration. The UE may monitor for, and the network entity may output, based on the periodic resources being outside the first active duration, the periodic signal during the first active duration based on updating the first active duration, updating the periodic resources, or both.
