Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitter may transmit a payload in transmission to the base station in a wireless communications system. The transmitter may identify a payload to include in the transmission to the base station. The transmitter may determine to transmit the transmission using an orthogonal sequence codebook or a non-orthogonal sequence codebook, based on a size of the payload, a control message from the base station to the transmitter, or a combination of these. The transmitter may then transmit the transmission to the base station based on whether the transmission is to use the orthogonal sequence codebook or the non-orthogonal sequence codebook. The transmission may be a noncoherent transmission. The transmission may be an uplink control information transmission, an uplink data transmission, a downlink control information transmission, or a downlink data transmission.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a user equipment (UE) to determine and apply limits to physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) processing in a dual active protocol stack handover scenario. In one aspect, the UE utilizes a joint blind decode capability for both a source cell group and a target cell group to determine whether a total limit for PDCCH candidates to monitor or non-overlapped control channel elements (CCEs) to monitor is applicable. The UE may identify a per cell limit for each configured single transmit receive point (TRP) cell and each multiple TRP cell based on a sub-carrier spacing SCS of the cell and the determination. The UE may include an interface configured to obtain a PDCCH for a slot. The UE may perform blind decoding operations on CCEs up to the per cell monitoring limit for each cell.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication that the UE is capable of supporting one or more channels of a first priority and one or more channels of a second priority, where the first priority is higher than the second. The UE may receive signaling indicating a search space set in a control-resource set (CORESET) that corresponds to grant candidates for scheduling the one or more channels of the first priority. The UE may determine a second search space set in the CORESET that corresponds to grant candidates for scheduling the one or more channels of the second priority. The UE may decode, within a search space of the first search space set, a grant for scheduling the one or more channels of the first priority.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for sidelink preemption. In some examples, a base station may transmit a preemption indication to instruct a user equipment (UE) to refrain from transmitting on a set of resources. In some examples, the preemption indication may be transmitted to a UE through a relay UE, which may adjust timing or resources of the preemption indication, include receipt or generation info of the preemption indication, or refrain from transmitting the preemption indication. Additionally, or alternatively, one or more sidelink UEs may infer a preemption indication from an uplink cancellation indication, and may refrain from performing sidelink communications based on the preemption indication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may activate or release one or more semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations for group-common downlink shared channels based on signaling from a base station. For example, the UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) from the base station that includes a feedback process field, where a value of the feedback process field indicates at least one of one or more SPS configurations is to be activated. In some examples, the base station may transmit the DCI in a group-common downlink control channel or in a UE-specific downlink control channel. Additionally, the base station may transmit a deactivation message to the UE to indicate for the UE to release one or more activated SPS configurations, where the deactivation message is transmitted in a group-common downlink control channel or a UE-specific downlink control channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify uplink (UL) control information (UCI) to transmit during a subframe. The UE may then select a UL channel on which to transmit the UCI based on whether a shared data and control UL channel employs contention-based scheduling. For example, multiple UEs could contend for access to the same semi-persistently scheduled (SPS) physical UL shared channel (PUSCH). Each UE may utilize a different demodulation reference (DMRS) signal cyclic shift to identify their transmissions. In some cases, some UCI, such as channel state information (CSI), may be transmitted on a contention-based PUSCH, while other UCI, such as acknowledgement information, may be transmitted on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). In some cases, the channel selection may be based on a configuration received from a base station.

Abstract: Aspects relate to wireless communications utilizing cross carrier scheduling Methods and apparatus include generating at least one slot in a control channel from a scheduling cell, the at least one slot including a plurality of control channel segments such as PDCCH segments, which are arranged at respective times within the at least one slot. Each of the control channel segments includes control information such as DCIs corresponding to respective slots for a scheduled cell. Distributing the control channel information in segments or spans over time affords improved decoding timing in a UE in the scheduled cell.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication that indicates whether a multicast and broadcast service (MBS) physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduled by downlink control information (DCI) is associated with a second PDSCH processing capability, wherein the second PDSCH processing capability has a shorter duration than a first PDSCH processing capability. The UE may receive, from the base station, the MBS PDSCH scheduled by the DCI. The UE may transmit, to the base station and based at least in part on the indication, hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback in accordance with the first PDSCH processing capability or the second PDSCH processing capability. Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enhance a HARQ feedback operation to improve data retransmissions by using tri-state HARQ feedback, and may enable a UE to construct a codebook for tri-state HARQ feedback. In one aspect, a UE determines whether tri-state HARQ feedback or bi-state HARQ feedback is configured based on a DL carrier. The UE generates HARQ feedback for at least one of a received PDCCH or a received PDSCH on the DL carrier based on the determination whether the DL carrier is configured with the tri-state HARQ feedback. The UE transmits the generated HARQ feedback.
