    摘要: The sampled-data band-pass filter device is based on the phenomemon of aliasing, and allows the substantially unattenuated passage of the components of an input signal at a frequency included within an interval comprised between a first frequency (f.sub.sL) and a second frequency (f.sub.sH), arranged around a third frequency (f.sub.sO), while it substantially attenuates the components of the input signal at frequencies outside said interval, and furthermore automatically performs the shift to low-frequency, around a fourth frequency (f.sub.O), of the components of the input signal which have passed without attenuation. According to the invention, the device comprises, as filter element, a sampled-data band-pass filter which employs, as sampling frequency, a fifth frequency (f.sub.s) equal to a whole submultiple of a sixth frequency (nf.sub.s) equal to the sum of the third frequency (f.sub.sO) and the fourth frequency (f.sub.O), having, as lower and upper cutoff frequencies, respectively the difference between the sixth frequency and the second frequency (nf.sub.s -f.sub.sH) and the difference between the sixth frequency and the first frequency (nf.sub.s -f.sub.sL).

    摘要: A voice-band data symbol is typically impaired by so-called phase jitter prior to symbol being received at a data modem. Modem circuitry estimates the phase angle of the jitter and an infinite-impulse-response (IIR) filter adjusts to that phase angle so that the jitter can be corrected for by a demodulator circuit. Advantageously, the IIR filter is arranged so that its pair of complex, conjugate poles are initially positioned at a first predetermined radius within a unit circle. The angular displacement of the poles around the unit circle is adaptively increased in response to receipt of a series of such estimates until such displacement substantially equals the phase angle of the jitter. The poles are then positioned at a second predetermined radius to increase the gain of the filter.

    摘要: An input sampling sequence with an input sampling rate is translated into an output sampling sequence with a selectable output sampling rate in a sampling filter. A circuit for forming the time difference of the sampling points forms from the given input sampling rate and the desired output sampling rate a signal corresponding to the time difference and this is used in a translation circuit for converting into data for characterizing the filter coefficients. The sampling filter is conditioned by the selected coefficients from the translation circuit. The invention is suitable for the transmission of sampled data, particularly sampled rates between two systems operating at different clock frequencies.

    摘要: A circuit for separating FM signals from a composite signal utilizes a comb filter having successive frequency response nulls which span the frequency spectrum of the FM signal to be separated. The comb filter response is phase linear and defines the pass-band of the desired signal. A nonideal or phase nonlinear bandpass filter can be cascaded with the comb filter to attenuate out of band signals. The cascade combination of the comb filter and nonlinear bandpass filters is a cost effective substitute for the conventional, complicated phase linear bandpass filter having a boxcar frequency response traditionally used to separate FM signals.

    摘要: In an adaptive filter a plurality of outputs (5, 7, 9, 11) of a delay circuit (3) are coupled via coefficient control circuits (21, 23, 25, 27) to a plurality of inputs (91, 93, 95, 97) of an adder circuit (89). The control signal inputs (29, 31, 33, 35) of the coefficient control circuits each receive a control signal via first integrators (37, 39, 41, 43) from first multiplier circuits (53, 55, 57, 59). A further output (85) of the delay circuit (3) controls a further input (87) of the adder circuit (89). The output signal from the adder circuit is controlled by a control circuit (121) which receives a control signal from a second multiplier circuit (103) via a second integrator (109) and a circuit having an exponential transfer function (113). A convergence behavior of the adaptive filter which is virtually independent of signal amplitudes is obtained by driving the integrators in such a way that the amplitude of their input signals are substantially independent of the amplitude of the signal at the input (1) of the filter (FIG. 1).

    摘要: A method and apparatus for minimizing errors in digital processing of electrical signals whereby a digital input signal is divided into a digital useful signal having a lower resolution than the input signal and into a digital error signal having lower resolution than the input signal. A deviation of the useful signal is reproduced from the input signal and a check is performed to see whether the sum error of a plurality of successive useful signal values crosses a prescribed upper or lower threshold. When a threshold is crossed, an error value of the useful signal which comes closest to this threshold is identified and the useful signal and the error signal of this signal value are corrected such that the sum error no longer crosses the threshold.
