    摘要: A radio operated data card whose outer jacket forms a sealed protected housing for internal electrical components, including an RFID integrated circuit which incorporates data storage and a radio frequency transceiver, an on card antenna, and manually operated, normally open electrical switch contacts connected between the on-card electronic circuitry and the antenna. The open switch contacts normally disable the card, protecting the data on the card from being surreptitiously read until the switch contacts are intentionally closed by the cardholder to enable data transfer to occur. The cardholder may activate the card by applying external pressure to the surface of the card at a predetermined position, closing the switch contacts which open again automatically when pressure is removed. A tactile indicia on the surface of the card allows the cardholder to determine by touch where the card should be pressed to enable data transfers to occur. In an alternate embodiment, a mating key in the possession of the cardholder may be brought into proximity with the card to close the normally open switch to permit information to be read from the card.

    摘要: One aspect of the invention includes one or more security devices embedded on one of the two surfaces, or between the two surfaces, of a compact disc (CD) or digital video disc (DVD) to impede the counterfeiting of the disc. The security devices may be, for example, holograms, optically variable devices (OVD) or RFID chips. CD/DVD is an authorized (non-pirated) version of a manufacturer's product. A system embodying the invention includes a player/reader which contains means for sensing selected characteristics of the security devices embedded on or within a CD/DVD and which is programmed to ascertain that the CD/DVD is in fact a valid document. Another aspect of the invention may include encrypting apparatus for reading/sensing selected characteristics of security device(s) and for annotating the disc and/or the security device(s) with corresponding information. Still another aspect includes a player/reader which is programmed to sense selected characteristics of security device(s) and/or to read information written back onto the disc and/or on the security device and to compare the information to ascertain the validity of the disc.

    摘要: A card, which is one of portable storage devices, fills its functions when connected to a terminal device. The card stores a random number table RND. The card calculates a function value f(RNDnullinull) of a preset function f by setting the argument of the function f as a random number RNDnullinull corresponding to the index number i which is designated from the random number table RND by the terminal device. Then the card compares and collates the functional value f(RNDnullinull) with a collating value G which is specially supplied by the terminal device. The card becomes a free state if the function value f(RNDnullinull) coincides with the collating value G, while it maintains the lock state if the function value f(RNDnullinull) does not coincide with the collating value G. Then the index number, which has been once used, is excluded in the following comparing or collating operations. In consequence, illegal access to the information stored in the card is surely prevented.
