Abstract:
In an LSI for an electronic watch having a ROM and a RAM, the content of the RAM is rewritten by the interpretation and execution sequentially for time counting control and other controls. The address designation method of the ROM comprises a Program Counter Method for designating the next instruction address to be executed by a program counter and for numerical computation, and a Next Address Designation Method for designating directly by a fixed field value in an instruction and for the software for the watch. The two methods are employed selectively by the kind of instructions so that an emit-field may be used for other purposes such as the operation of a value which extends over several words of the RAM as a single instruction.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an electronic multifunction timepiece employing the PLA system, including a key input circuit, a clock pulse generator circuit, a random access memory which stores time data therein, an adder circuit, and a read only memory which stores therein control instructions for controlling operations of said random access memory and said adder circuit and for causing said random access memory to write renewed time data and which provides the control signals sequentially on the basis of clock pulses of said clock pulse generator circuit, characterized in that said read only memory comprises a first read only memory which stores therein control signals for renewing the time data of said random access memory independently or operation modes appointed by said key input circuit, and a second read only memory which stores therein control instructions for controlling information processing operations in the operation modes appointed from said key input circuit.
Abstract:
A gear train mechanism for a wristwatch provides a thinner watch, the gear train comprising a frame plate, a dial, a plate interposed between the dial and the frame plate, and a shaft rotatably supporting a center wheel and pinion. The shaft is attached to the frame plate. Rubbing and misalignment of the hands is prevented by aligning their rotating support members for an extended longitudinal distance on the shaft. This is accomplished by the gear train of this invention despite a reduction in the thickness of the watch. Hour and minute hands or hour, minute, and second hands are provided in alternative embodiments.
Abstract:
A motor assembly and casing is provided in which the assembled parts are pre-aligned on a guide boss on the casing, the guide boss acting to couple the motor to a cased gear train to effect a predetermined alignment between a motor output pinion concentric with the guide boss and the input drive pinion of the gear train. The top of the casing has an internal centrally disposed index peg which interfits with the central stator core of the motor such that when the cover is secured to the casing the predetermined alignment of the motor parts with the guide boss is maintained.
