    Abstract: A combined spring and damper comprises a plurality of spring elements (1), each of zig-zag form, disposed in radial planes with respect to a common axis. Also situated on the axis is a mass (7) of resilient material. When the spring is compressed along the axis the inward contraction of inner reflex portions (3) of the spring elements is resisted by the mass of resilient material, and the resulting axial movement of the radially inner reflex portions is resisted by contact with the mass of resilient material and axial compression thereof.

    Abstract: An antiskid shock and vibration isolating foot is formed with an annular circumferential recess about midway between its top and bottom and made of a resilient elastomer. A threaded stud is bonded to the top of the elastomer. The upper portion above the annular recess passes through an opening in a case base until the edge around the opening resides in the annular recess. The threaded stud passes through an opening in the base of a component. The stiffness of the upper portion above the annular recess is different from the stiffness of the lower portion below the annular recess.     Abstract: A resilient engine mount assembly is disclosed and generally includes a relatively rigid base member, intermediate member and suspended member. The base member is adapted to be secured to a vehicle frame or the like, and the suspended member is adapted to be secured to an engine or other prime mover. The base member is interconnected with the intermediate member by a first elastomeric support means which supports the intermediate member longitudinally, laterally, and vertically. Similarly, the suspended member is interconnected with the intermediate member by a second elastomeric support means which supports the suspended member longitudinally, laterally, and vertically. The first and second elastomeric support means have distinct damping characteristics in order to dampen various forms of engine vibrations in substantially any direction, whether such vibrations have high or low amplitudes or high or low frequencies.

    Abstract: A resilient mounting of elastomeric material includes first and second insulators adapted for placement on opposite sides of the mounting surface. A spacer includes an elongated cylindrical portion and at one end a perpendicularly extending flat flange. The spacer is forcibly fitted into the first insulator thereby radially compressing the elastomeric material of the lower portion of the first insulator between the cylindrical portion of the spacer and the tubular portion of a metallic annulus which is bonded to the exterior of the first insulator.     Abstract: An isolation mount is provided having triple spring rate capability. The mount provides a first spring rate to absorb and isolate engine shock and vibration to a first deflection limit and then a higher spring rate to a second deflection limit. If desired, a still higher spring rate above the second deflection limit is provided. The mount includes annular inner and outer bushings separated by an annular ring and a plurality of resilient supporting bushings. The ring and bushings are sized with respect to each other so that initial radial loading is taken by the plurality of resilient bushings until a first gap between the ring and the outer bushings is closed. This effectively removes the contribution of a pair of the resilient bushings to the spring rate. Thereafter, a further increase of the load will close a second gap between the ring and the inner bushing and effectively remove the remaining resilient bushing's contribution to the spring rate. The first spring rate is thus changed to a higher second spring rate. Thereafter, further deflection will result in a third spring rate higher than the second spring rate.
