    摘要: A rotary transformer has a bus duct assembly that extends through the hollow shaft of a rotary transformer from collector or slip rings positioned above a drive motor for the rotary transformer to end windings of the rotor positioned most remote from the drive motor. By positioning the leads of the bus duct connection with the rotor end windings on the rotor end windings most remote form the drive motor, the shaft strength and integrity is not reduced due to the torque applied by the drive motor. Further, the shaft is formed from two coupled shaft sections and the bus duct assembly comprises two L shaped sections each positioned substantially within a corresponding shaft section. The bus duct sections are interconnected to complete the bus duct assembly making it simpler to remove the first or upper shaft section from the second or lower shaft section during field servicing. Further, the use of the two bus duct sections within the shaft coupled together simplifies assembly of each bus duct section within its corresponding shaft section.

    摘要: A rotor assembly for an alternator includes an electrical wire defining an excitation winding. A first pole piece and a second pole piece each have a generally circular body defining an axis of rotation and an outer radial periphery. A plurality of pole fingers are spaced radially about and extend axially from the outer radial periphery of each pole piece parallel to the axis of rotation. Each pole piece includes a plurality of mounting surfaces spaced radially about the outer radial periphery between the pole fingers. A plurality of permanent magnets are positioned on the mounting surfaces. A plurality of covers include tabs extending therefrom and are adapted to substantially encase one of the permanent magnets. The mounting surfaces of the first and second pole pieces include ribs which are adapted to engage the tabs to secure the covers to the mounting surfaces.

The rotor, in the present invention for a vehicular a.c. generator includes a bobbin having a rotor coil for generating a magnetic field wound thereon and including fixing portions for supporting lead wires of the rotor coil; a pair of rotor cores for sandwiching the rotor coil and the bobbin therebetween; slip rings having terminals to be connected to the lead wires; grooves formed in the rotor core for housing the lead wires, the lead wires extending between the fixing portions and the terminals; and a rear fan provided so as to cover the grooves. The fixing portion, the terminal and the groove for each of the lead wires are provided so as to be substantially aligned, and the groove has an inward portion near an inner periphery of the rotor formed in a greater width than an outward portion near an outer periphery of the rotor.

    摘要: In the case of thermal power installations in which a gas turbine and a steam turbine jointly drive a turbo generator, the slip rings (8, 9) are arranged on a separate slip ring shaft (14) which is connected to the actual shaft or machine shaft (10) of the electric machine by means of a first detachable coupling (11). The slip ring shaft is provided on its end averted from the electric machine with a coupling flange (15) which is not connected to the slip ring shaft (14) by welding until after the slip rings (8, 9) have been pushed on. The use of an expensive shrink-on coupling between the turbo generator and steam turbine is avoided in this way without increasing the overall length of the turbo generator.

    摘要: A brushless shaft mounted eddy current drive has a coil mounted to bearings by way of a coil mount. The bearings are located on a hub. The coil mount is anchored to a fixed object. The pole pieces are coupled together by a nonmagnetic material to form a cavity that receives the coil. In another embodiment, a brushless drive has a coil rotatably mounted in a cavity within the pole pieces. A rotary inductive coil is mounted to the pole pieces about a stationary inductive coil. Alternating current is provided to the stationary coil to induce current into the rotary coil. In still another embodiment, an alternator is used to induce current into the rotating coil. In still a further embodiment, a brushless drive incorporates a liquid conductive rotatable coupler in the hub. In still another embodiment, the brushless drive energizes the coil in the electromagnet by way of bearings. The bearings are mounted onto a shaft that is coupled to the electromagnet. The shaft is located at one end of the drive, while a motor shaft is received by the opposite end of the drive.

    摘要: A rotor shaft for electro-dynamic machinery such as a motor vehicle alternator includes a cold-headed slot through a bearing land formed on the shaft. The slot extends axially through a bearing land and either extends radially through a collar portion adjacent the bearing land, or communicates with a radially aligned shaped conductor on a slip ring. Preferably, two diametrically opposed slots are formed, and the slots provide a means for aligning the wires, for example, prior to encapsulation of the rotor by injection molding, while positioning the leads for engagement with the winding terminals and with the conductor rings on the slip ring bushing. Preferably, the shaft is made by a sequential set of cold heading steps which avoid deformation or uneven formation of the groove. A cold headed shaft formed without a collar is preferably through-fed in a single direction through one or more machining stations for production efficiency.

    摘要: A dynamo assembly comprising a stator assembly and rotor assembly as shown. The preferred rotor assembly comprises two end caps, a single wire strand, a collector ring assembly and a plurality of laminants.
