Data characterizing a fuel storage facility can be received from one or more of a plurality of sensors disposed in the fuel storage facility. A fuel leak prediction for the fuel storage facility can be determined by a server, based on the received data, and further based on at least one predictive model that predicts whether a fuel leak exists in the fuel storage facility. The fuel leak prediction can be provided by the server. Related apparatus, systems, methods, techniques, and articles are also described.

A system determines an interaction period during which a fuel dispensing operation is performed at a fuel dispensing terminal. The system determines a measured volume per unit time parameter associated with fuel dispensed from the fuel dispensing terminal by dividing the determined volume for fuel by the interaction period. The system compares the measured volume per unit time parameter with a threshold volume per unit time parameter. In response to determining that the measured volume per unit time parameter is less than the threshold volume per unit time parameter, the system retrieves a video feed that shows the fuel dispensing terminal during the fuel dispensing operation. The system creates a file for the fuel dispensing operation. The system stores the video feed in the created file.

Systems and methods for fuel dispenser security are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a user seeking access to a protected function of the fuel dispenser is presented with a challenge that is encrypted using a secret key that is unique to the fuel dispenser. To access the secured function, the user must obtain a session password from a server which authenticates the user, decrypts the challenge using a counterpart of the secret key, determines whether the user is authorized to access the secured function, and returns the session password extracted from the challenge only when the user is authorized. The server can thus control access to certain fuel dispenser functions according to a set of user access privileges. The challenge can also include additional information which can be used by the fuel dispenser and/or by the server to store a log of access activity.

In one implementation, a method for providing a fluid at a target pressure may include providing a fluid at a velocity to a supply line through a dispenser, measuring a pressure of the fluid flowing through the supply line, comparing the measured pressure with the target pressure, and adjusting the velocity based on the results of the comparison.

Methods, systems, and computer program products for using a reference meter to provide automated calibration for a fuel dispenser are disclosed. According to one method, first historical metering data associated with a fuel flow meter and second historical metering data associated with a reference meter are maintained within a memory. The first historical metering data is compared with the second historical metering data. It is determined whether a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter. In response to determining that a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter, an automated calibration of the fuel flow meter is performed.

Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer program products for balancing net inventory using a dynamic expansion coefficient of liquid product relative to the temperature changes with density. The method can include receiving an API gravity report that includes a measurement of a specific gravity and a temperature of the product reported at a rack. Utilizing the API gravity report, the method can include maintaining correct densities of the liquid product by utilizing a plurality of expansion coefficients to dynamically convert a gross volume measurement to a net volume measurement for transactions of liquid product in a tank and at a dispenser in order to maintain a net perpetual book balance.

In some implementations, an apparatus for determining the volume of fuel dispensed from a fuel dispensing unit has a measuring device configured to generate signals corresponding to a fuel flow rate (Q) when dispensing fuel and a correction unit for correcting the signals by elements of correction data associated with the apparatus and stored in a memory. Backup correction data associated with an apparatus are stored, for the purpose of data retrieval, in a backup memory included in the fuel dispensing unit.

A device for verifying the amount of gasoline dispended by a gasoline pump is disclosed. The device comprises a housing containing a flow meter with said housing adapted to receive a gas pump nozzle and having an exit nozzle which is received by an intake gasoline channel of an automotive vehicle. In this manner, the housing and corresponding flow meter is integrated between the gas pump nozzle and gasoline-receiving channel of the vehicle. A display on the flow meter housing records the amount of gasoline dispensed therethrough. A user is then able to compare the recorded amount on the flow meter display with the amount recorded on a gas pump display. In an alternative version, a flow meter is incorporated within the gasoline-receiving channel of a vehicle. An automotive display then displays the volume of gasoline pumped into the vehicle for comparison with the volume displayed on the gas pump display.
